SOURCE: cabin filter location mercury mountaineer

There is one for the 2003 Mercury Mountaineer. If you are smellign a "vinegar" odor, mix a solution of 1 part bleach to 3 parts water and pour it down the grid at the base of the windshield. It will take care of the smell.

In my 2002 Mercury Mountaineer my hazard lights work inside on dash and outside in vehicle but my turn signals does not work left or right from inside the dash or outside can you tell what is wrong

Click on the link.
See the lite blue wire that carries voltage from flasher to multifunction switch, with the turn signal on, that wire should be hot, use a test light to check for voltage. If wire is hot, I think the multifunction switch has a problem. If it isn't hot, I think the flasher has a problem or that wiring circuit.

Having trouble with my turn signals. The bulbs light up but they don't always flash. Sometimes they flash normal, sometimes fast (as if the bulb is going) and sometimes not at all.

From your description, it sounds like the flasher relay is on its way out. See the link to the YouTube video showing the location for a 2004 Mountaineer. Yours should be in about the same place.

Where is the flasher unit for 1999 mercury mountaineer?

It's the same flasher unit for both turn signals AND emergency flashers. Even though one side works, the other won't. If you have a good fuse for the turn signals, then replace the flasher unit.
