You might have a plugged catalytic converter, caused by over rich mixture

97 ford expedition has a code 171 and 174 bank 1 and 2 lean what do i do to fix this

Code 171 and 174 are for bank 1 and 2 running too lean. The engine has compensated as rich as it can go, and it is still to lean. This does not necessarily mean your mixture is bad, but something (a sensor) is telling the ECM to correct lean. The oxygen sensors alert the ECM to how lean/rich the exhaust is, and then the ECM trips a code. Maybe you have a bad oxy. sensor, but since there are 4 of them (2 per bank), I don't think they could all go at once.

Code 1150 on a 1997 ford f 150 with a 4.2 motor

I will try to paste an article for you. Several sources indicate this is a Bank 2 O2 sensor problem and that it is failing to switch and adjust for the fuel mix. But as you can see, many defects can lead up to this O2 sensor Code 1150.

I would try to use a spray bottle of water and go around the Intake manifold and spray the water while the engine is running. An intake leak will draw water into the engine and change RPM.

If no success then try changing the O2 bank 2 sensor. You may need to wipe the computer and clear the Code. H40 DTCs P1131, P1132, P1151 AND P1152: UPSTREAM HO2S NOT SWITCHING. DTC P1130: FUEL SYSTEMicon1.png NOT SWITCHING AT FUELicon1.png TRIM (RICH OR LEAN)
Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P1131 bank 1 (Cylinder 1) and P1151 bank 2 indicate the fuel/air ratio is correcting rich for an overly lean condition. The HO2S voltage is less than 0.45 volt. DTCs P1132 bank 1 (Cylinder 1) and P1152 bank 2 indicate the fuel/air ratio is correcting lean for an overly rich condition. The HO2S voltage is greater than 0.45 volt.
DTC P1130 and P1150 indicate the fuel control system has reached maximum compensation for a lean or rich condition and the HO2S is not switching.
DTC/HO2S Reference List
•HO2S-11 = DTCs P1131, P1132 and P1130
•HO2S-21 = DTCs P1151, P1152 and P1150
Possible causes:
Fuel system
•Excessive fuel pressure.
•Leaking fuel injector(s).
•Leaking fuel pressure regulator.
•Low fuel pressure or running out of fuel.
•Contaminated fuel injector(s)
•Vapor recovery system
Induction system
•Air leaks after the MAF.
•Vacuum leaks (vacuum lines and gaskets).
•Restricted air inlet.
•PCV system.
•Improperly seated engineicon1.png oil dipstick.
EGR System
•Leaking gasket.
•Stuck open EGR valve.
•Leaking diaphragm.
Base engine
•Oil overfill.
•Cam timing.
•Cylinder compression.
•Exhaust leaks before or near the HO2Ss.
•Check intake air system for leaks, obstructions and damage.
•Check air cleaner element, air cleaner housing for blockage.
•Verify integrity of the PCV system.
•Check for vacuum leaks. user_online.gif quote.gif post_old.gif )

p0171 is the code for system too lean bank 1. possible causes intake/exhaust leak--air system maf/vaf sensor-fuel pressure--manifold regulator/ pump--injectors Ho2s Check for leaking rubber hoses. Have a fuel pressure test done and replace the sensor.

Expedition 2000 idles rough, stalls, runs rich

Sounds like it is still lean & driven rich by PCM

I assume a repair shop can't resolve the issue !

That seems to be why thousands of people come
to this site & ask questions

I know the MAF is common to both banks, but you diagnose
short & long term fuel trim & perform several tests, before you
replace a MAF Sensor

P0172 sensor system to rich

Correct, code 172 is fuel system too rich bank one.
This means the computer is trying to cut back on the fuel going thru the injectors and according to the O2 sensor it is still rich.
Could be a faulty sensor, or a leaking injector, or fuel pressure regulator.

P2195 code shows with obd2 car runs rough and stalls at stops

P2195 is O2 sensor signal stuck lean Bank 1, Sensor 1. this is usually caused by not enough fuel being delivered to engine.

I need to know which O2 sensors are which: Bank 1 Sensor 1, Bank 1 Sensor 2, Bank 2 Sensor 1, and Bank 2 Sensor 2. Which are on the engine block and which are on the exhaust?

bank one upstream oxygen sensor on exhaust manifold bank two oxygen sensor after catalytic converter.tell me what code you are getting.bank 1 sensor 1 fuel system is too rich fuel pressure too high fuel pressure regulator leaking or more than 1 fuel injector leaking. fuel contaminated.check spark plugs if black carbon color fuel system too rich. if you getting code bank 1 sensor 2 check for air leaks in the exhaust system, air leaks intake manifold.look for vacuum lines leaks, look for vacuum leaks pcv valve and hose and make egr valve not stuck open or gasket leak.

Where is bank. 1 sensor 2 on a 2003 expedition

Here is a diagram showing the Ford O2 sensor numbering system. Bank 1 is always the side with cylinder #1. Bank 2 is the opposite side (click for zoom).

My 2003 expedition giving code po171 have cleaned maf sensor in the air box didn't work what should i try next

P0171 is a lean fuel condition bank 1. Could be a bad O2 sensor on that side of the engine.

Could be a plugged fuel filter. How long since it was replaced? Close to or beyond the recommended interval?

Other possibilities...
Failing fuel pressure regulator.
Failing fuel pump.
Failing or plugged fuel injector.
