Question about 2000 Cadillac DeVille

1 Answer

My 2000 Deville keeps running hot. I drive thirty miles to work everyday and by the time I get to work my temperature gauge goes into the hot area. I changed the thermostat and a couple of warn out hoses already, but that didn't help.

My 1996 nissan maxima is overheating. Fans come on, new radiator, new thermostat. Heater now working, 1 hose on heater core not getting hot. Top radiator hose is bulging and water come out the radiato

try taking the thermostat out, see if it still gets hot, if its a vg30 engine, there could be trapped air in the system, there is a bleeder valve on one of the heater hoses, passenger side, right at the firewall

"Check Trac" lights comes on, temperature gauge shuts off when accelerating or at high speed with load

I have been checking every post about this problem and have replaced many parts and the problem continued but today i backed my 1999 town car up on the ramps and found my gremlin. I had a bundle of 3 wires coming out of my fuel sending unit and taking a rest on the nearby exhaust bend and were melted together and showing bare wire so i pulled them away from the exhaust and separated the 3 wires in question and taped them and made sure they would not be keeping company with the hot pipe any more and then took a long drive and all is well again.

I had the same problem on my 9-5 vector 3.0 TiD with the top up coolant warning. Nearly became bankrupt trying to diagnose the problem and trips to Saab. Header tank, sensors, pressure tested etc. The Saab squaddies couldn't figure it out until it got worse. It's a head gasket failure despite passing pressure tests initially...sounds like it's still early days on yours. Had to replace the engine for near £5000.but under warranty :-) Reckon 2.5-3k at a good specialists.

Within the past three months, I have put two thermostats in my 1991 Honda Accord, and it is still overheating. I have bled the system, and replaced the radiator cap. The temperature gauge fluctuates...

the hose to the top is hot ,the bottom is cold the radiator is plugged, have to replace it.Would suggest ,just get a new one ,don't fool around with cleaners or flushes.

My 2000 Jaguar S-Type High Engine Temperature message comes on and the temperature gauge goes to maximum hot for about 45 seconds then goes back to normal within a few seconds. This happened about 4 times...

I assume the car drives okay the rest of the time at varying speeds and conditions?
It may be you have an air lock in the system (have you had work done or lost coolant?) or the sensor or its wiring is faulty.
Check the level of your coolant tank when the car is at full temp and idling - for safety - the tank is opaque you should be able to see the water level - do not open when hot !

2000 chevy blazer 4X4. After driving twenty to thirty miles on freeway when I pull off to the off ramp and come to a stop my battery gauge will start to flicker as well as my fuel gauge, will do that...

Are there any codes in the pcm?
There are quite a few things that could cause this;
Make sure the battery cables are tight and clean.
If you have a way to do it, need to find out what the fuel pressure is at when it is acting up.
Dose it miss at all or just loose rpm's and die, no matter what you do? (meaning can you keep it alive by pressing the gas peddle)

To me it sounds like your new fuel pump is loosing pressure while running for a while. But try and get a pressure reading and post back, that will give us something to rule out, or to address.
I think the light flicker you are talking about is just low engine rpm's?
