Question about 2001 Kia Rio

1 Answer

Hello. I did a testing to my 2001 Kia Sephia LS and I got 2 codes. The first one is P1624 and the second one is P0705. I went to a repair shop and they said all I needed was the Transmission Range Switch and a Shift Cable. I would like to know where do they go? Could I fix it by myself?

P1624 could be a problem with the TCM. Needs to go to a shop to get fixed. As the transmission range switch I recommend have an experienced mechanic do that as well.

What is code PO 1800 for a 2001 KIA sephia

I already answered this. Smart a** answer is PO 1800 means "Please Offer 1800" (I own a 2012 Kia Optima and love it. )

Go to a major repair shop like Goodyear Auto Center, Merchants Auto, NTB, Firestone Service Center, etc and they will be HAPPtY to tell you what the code means. However, given the age and horrible repair history and owner satisfaction, I would sell it and take the for $1000 I get. Then put that down on a newer, more reliable car. Or, find a $2000 used car and pay cash for a better car, like a 98-2001 Camry or Accord.

My shuma 1.5 ls was running fine, then just wouldnt start. Push starts fine, went for a drive and it seems the battery isn't charging, its a newish battery, altenator and starter seems fine. Why?

Have the battery load tested to determine the health and it's ability to take and hold a charge...the alternator can be tested too. If they test fine check your clutch switch. Hope this helps.

I have a leak in my a/c on my 2001 kia sephia Ls I addfreon and it still cools but it runs out within a day or two

The best bet is to have a dealership do a dye test. They add a color mix into the a/c and it makes any of the leaks visible. After that, decide if it is worth the part cost to fix.

Hold lite and and a p1624 code on a 2001 sportage

Code number p1624 is MIL Request Signal from TCM to ECM. which means malfunction indication light(MIL) is requesting a signal from your engine control module(ECM) or Transmission control module(TCM) i would reccomend u take it to the dealership to get it checked out.
