Wheel bearings for these are in an enclosed unit. The whole unit has to be replaced. A certified GM service mechanic must get it from GM. Does not have to be the dealership, but this is not a do it yourself job. Sorry. Dealer will charge almost $600. Good certified mechanic will usually do it for half. Best of luck.

maby im wrong but if you rev up and only rear wheels spin that means that it might be 4 wheel drive but not constant 4 wheel drive or diff lock system ,,,, ,, in 4 wheel drive all wheells will turn together but if pressure of slip is bad enough or torque high enough only 2 wheels will drive ,,, thats why diff lock locks wheels together in each axle to over come this ,,, all wheel drive like in landrover locks all 4 wheels together to ensure all wheels rotate to give best grip

I have to replace my right rear wheel seal/bearing on my 2002 Chevy Tahoe and am curious about how much it is/should cost me.

Hello Richard, the bearing and seal kit will run you about $75, i recommend using a Timken bearing over the AC Delco. Two hours labor to install is the norm for most shops @ $85- $95 per hour. Dealer rates will be higher. Estimated repair cost $265.00.
I hope this helps.

yes, after the rear axle is removed you have to use a large slide hammer with a special attachment on the end to get it out and the proper bearing driver to install the new one they are a very tight press fit into the housing

Replacing the starter

First you need to raise the truck off the ground and put it on jack stands.Remove the battery cable negative cable end.Next step is to locate it,it's on the passengers side [from under looking up] and it fastens to the transmission. With a 15mm socket, remove the bolts that mount it to the motor. Now just remove the large and small wires from it and pull it out[this usually requires many different attempts and position switches but it will come out].
