Low beam does not work 2006 pontiac gran prix

Joe, It is very likely your LOW BEAM RELAY, they are ONLY $40 Auto Zone or other parts stores. I would have wasted almost a $1000 on parts and labor if my car was not under warranty for all the labor and parts GM certified mechanics wasted replacing a computer brain and the switch on left side of steering wheel. The switch they tried to make me pay for on my second attempt to fix it but but I freaked out on them. My low beams would just go out at any time, very dangerous. This is part # info you need when you go to parts store. You need GM part # 15016745 a.k.a R6100 Mine just says R6100 on the parts box. Look at your manual for its location in fuse box under the hood. It is so simple to replace, a 4 year old could do it. There is reference made on the net by some that Parts stores may tell you the part is a blower relay but ignore that, its for the low beam. Visit this post first to make sure this makes sense to you ok. if the link does not work search "07 grand prix low beam headlights shut off intermittently?" and you will find the forum with at least 20 people who have had this issue. All 06-08 grand prix's should be recalled
I hope I have helped you out.

The low beams of my 2006 pontiac grand prix don't work only high beams work

mdsarnes, The first thing that I would check is the fuse for the low beams located in the engine compartment power distribution box. (Fuse box) GM does have a legend written right on the cover so you know which fuse to check. Also, when the low beams are on try and wiggle the connectors to each bulb. If these dont work, replace one bulb and see if it works. If it does then take the same bulb and try it on the other side. If you have a test light then you can test for power at the plugs before you purchase any bulbs. Good luck with this.
