Question about 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
First drain radiator, then remove top radiator hose from both radiator and engine. At the engine side, where hose was connected to a housing, unbolt housing and you'll find your thermostat. Reverse the above to reinstall.
Note: when you're at parts store picking up parts ask if they have diagrams or literature you can take with you. (most parts stores have hand out and tons of advice)
