your describing a throttle positioning sensor problem. It could be as simple as a vacuum leak too. clear the codes & see what returns.

2001 maxima v6 no power wont go over 2 to5 mph has codes p0731, p0732 could that be a bad cat?


Check exhaust not blocked ,check fuel filter,check it has fuel pump pressure check air filter not obstructed

Engine misfiring, warning lights are coming in and out.digital dash trac control, overdrive off light,temp gauge shots up momentarily, and check engine light. car running rough. 2000 Grand Marquis 95k


Misfire condition on cylinder 5 (P0305) and cylinder 8 (P0308). There is a good explanation of it here :

code p0731 p0732 are internal gear ratio trans. codes and p0172 vehicle running rich can also be caused if vehicle trans. is slipping

This code refers to the Ignition Module, there is a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) against this code for the 1995 Maxima, it is NTB97028

Check light on 95 maxima code PO305 & PO325


Here you go:
P0305 Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected
P0325 Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 or Single Sensor)

The 305 is most likely caused by a faulty knock sensor.(325)
