I do know that O'Reiley"s auto pars store sells replacement door handles. you will have to pull the panel to replace it. The only drawback is not knowing the year of your vehicle, it is only a guess. Newer vehicles tend NOT to have replacement parts readily available. Log into and search if a replacement part is available. If not, call the parts department at the dealer to see if one can be had.

How to remove door handles only, not the whole

For inside door handles, a special tool is required. It slips behind the door handle or window crank and moves the clip down so the handle will come off. For the outside door handle, Take the inside handles off using the special tool (available at any auto parts store). Remove the inside door panel. Remove the retainer clips for the door/lock linkage. The outer handle is held on by bolts on the inside of the door. Good luck

Door handle repair for Ford fusion

The door handle will not allow unlocking from the inside. This is a common problem with the Ford Fusion 2007 to 2012 and other cars. A cheap piece of plastic breaks that connects the lock lever with the door handle. You can roll down the window and unlock from the outside or hold both levers together and pull open from the inside. This is a very simple repair. Go to any of many web sites for auto parts and buy a replacement. I bought a Dorman 81702 Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Interior Front Driver Side Replacement Door Handle. I popped off the lid that covers a hidden screw inside the recess of the door handle. You have to use a torque bit to unscrew the screw. I then unscrewed the torque screw holding the upper part of the door panel that is opposite the door hinge. The upper part of the door panel can be be carefully pulled away with moderate pressure allowing access to the door handle mechanism. One more bolt holds the door handle part in place. Pull out the broken door handle part, remove the locking cable and put in the new part. Reverse the process to finish up. The whole process took about 10 minutes.

2008 chevrolet interior door handle repairs

There is a repair kit for you truck. The part that is broken is the metal piece. If you go through GM you have to buy a brand new interior door trim panel because the door handle part is attached to it. Otherwise I found a company that offers a repair kit that just repairs the broken part. Plus is cheaper then buy a whole interior door trim part. the inside door handle is probably broken. the cable may have popped out but usually its because the clips on the inside door handle break off. luckily you can just replace the handle and not have to get a whole new door panel

I need to replace the rear inside door handle on my Licoln Zephyr (2006). Do I need to take off the door panel?

Typical on most GM cars, the door panel will need to come off in order to replace the door handle. Sometimes you can simply remove the panel around the door knob to replace. However as stated above, on most GM models, you'll usually have to remove the whole panel to get at it.

You'll usually need a torq screwdriver, and a straight blade screwdriver, hammer (to reinstall the door panel) and in some cases a Phillips. Remove the door panel with care, because of the many wires and electrical connections inside, and to avoid breaking the plastic pivots that hold the panel snug against the door .

Removing inside door handle

The control panels are often held in place by either spring tensioners or some built into the plastic frame of the panel and can be pried up and out. They pretty much depend on gravity to keep it in place.
Once free of the panel, turning it may allow it to be passed through the hole in which it normally resides.
I would try first to pry with an old credit or bank card before resorting to metal tools.
