2001 chevy venture temperature sending unit shere is it located

2b6d71ba-670f-496d-9dbd-873872864652.pngIt is located on the drivers side of the engine. On the block ,below the front cylinder head. Theres probably an air/intake hose covering it from the air filter box. Follow the radiator hose on that side to the engine. Itll be to the left of the thermostat housing.

2001 chevy suburban fuel gauge stoped working

If the sending unit was connected and grounded, I would guess the gauge in the cluster is faulty.

Fuel guage & water guage are not working properly the fuel guage reads ful then will go to empty after you drive it for awile - the water guage only goes up to a quater

The gas tank sending unit has a float on it to register the amount of gas in the tank. The float is probably faulty which will cause erratic readings and is a fairly common issue with some GM units. Replacement of the sending unit should resolve that issue. As far as the coolant temperature gauge, it could be a faulty temperature sending unit or a thermostat that is stuck open or someone removed the thermostat. This will cause the engine to never reach operating temperature which in turn makes the engine run rich and can clog cat. converters and destroy some sensors.

this problem is caused by a defective gas tank sending unit, the gas tank must be removed and the fuel level sending unit replaced. and yes I am sorry but it is very expensive to fix.

Engine does not appear to be hot. Gauge says extreme heat

try replacing your temperature sending switch. That it what tells your gauge or idiot light where to read or light to come on. It may have a short in it. Or a short between the two.
