Question about 1991 Toyota Supra
It seems that ever since I had the original starter replaced(aftermarket...unfortunately)....My car doesnt start all the time.....You can drive it then if you stop and turn off, it might not start.....then sometimes , you can come back and try it again and it will fire up...what gives ? .....Im thinking its the crappy starter I had installed...I hear it could be the relay switch...like the car isnt recognizing its in Park......help
Being this is an older car it could also be your ignition switch. I would start there as this sounds exactly like an ignition switch. If when it doesn't start you hear nothing, no clicks, starter trying to start etc, I would replace the ignition switch. It's not expensive and if you talk to the guys at the parts store they can give you a good idea how to do it. They will likely even let you look at a Hayes book in the store to see how it's done. It's really very simple.
