Question about 1993 Dodge Caravan

1 Answer

I was driving on the freeway. The van started reducing speed, the oil light came on, then the van died altogether. Oil and antifreeze levels are fine. There was lots of steam coming out of it.

Whom driving on freeway once I disengaged clutch, oil. Light started flashing till I engaged.. So checked oil.2qrts over.(2 days) so drained excess ..But still having same issue

IF you did not add oil, then you have a leak that is allowing antifreeze to leak into the oil. The oil will look milky. The coolant level will drop. This wont be a cheap repair either.

1994 Park Avenue. New battery (battery light on) oil light on (oil is fine) car dies when driving at low speeds. Service engine light on but no bad codes are detected when tested.

sounds like you could have a few problems. On the battery light it could be alternator. Test voltage at battery with car running, should be 13-14 volts. Oil light on could be oil level sensor on bottom of oil pan. Dying problem could be mass air flow sensor, coolant temp sensor, idle air valve.

2012 kia sedona white smoke comes out of exhast when first started

White smoke is usually an indication of burning antifreeze and burning oil would have a more bluish tint to it and smell like burning oil. If it's a 2012, isn't it still covered by the KIA warranty though??

2000 Ford Escort, oil light came on then lost all gas power and my car would not go over 40 miles an hour. Then my car died and white smoke came out from under hood. I smelt a strange smell before all

gonna guess that the timing belt slipped or broke due to low oil pressure up top..what was the odor..burnt oil. burnt antifreeze or burnt rubber..or did it burn your nose like an electrical fire..repost please

Car won't start & leaking lots of some kind of fluid

The computer stopped the car to prevent you driving it and destroying the engine. So you will not be able to restart it until the problem is fixed.

Have you checked any of the following:
== engine oil level
== radiator coolant level
== if its an auto trans, the auto transmission fluid level.

Drop a white tissue into the fluid the car is dropping. Is it watery or oily and what colour is it.

The atoil temp light is flashing and the car died but it starts back up but there is a smell of antifreeze

first check oil level, if OK it could be the oil pump not functioning well and it is in oil bath ,and may need to change by mechanic.

Makes extra oil, has died & won't start, rplaced o2 sensor started and ran for a bit, has now died again??

It can't make oil. It must be fuel or antifreeze mixing with the oil. Is it running really rich and flooding the engine out? That would explain gas in the oil. Or do you notice the antifreeze level going down?

Need help with oil light

If your oil light is on, then it'll mean either your oil level is below the recommended level; the oil pressure sensor is bad, there's a leak somewhere reducing the pressure of the oil); the oil pump is faulty
