Hello rjm.... auto electric problems like this can be the most annoying and the most difficult to find. I suspect that your headlight switch is going south but rather than replace any parts I suggest the following strategy. Go to a local autoelectric repair shop. These are usually listed in the yellow pages. These shops have all of the diagnostic equipment and a data base of wiring diagrams to quickly get to the problem and fix it. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

I have a 2001 potiac grand prix with no tail lights the same bulb work turn signal an brake lights they r fine ive checked all fuses and replaced all bulbs even replaced the light switch still no tail

no, they are not the same. The multifunction switch is on the steering column and controls wipers, turn signals, and hi/low beam headlights. Dash switch is on the dash and generally turns lights on and off and frequently also controls brightness of dash lights. I had a Camry that had the same thing happening...ended up having a toggle switch put in to control the tail lights...fixed the issue.

My lights wont come on ive changed fuses and bulbs what can problem be please n thanx

you may have a bad switch for the lights.if the fuses and the bulbs are good, you don`t say if your talking about the headlights tail lights, dash lights, signal lights brake lights, low beam lights high beam lights or both.i`m assuming headlights.if you have a daytime headlights, the relay in this car it could have gone bad as it is tied into the regular headlight system.

1996 CAMARO BLOWS HEADLIGHT EVERY 6 MONTHS

ive had 2 camaros and both did this. remove the headlight and take the bulb out of the back of the sealed beam. be careful not to break it as its glued in, but it is possible. just be gentle and patient. replace the bulb with an aftermarket 9006 bulb (hi beams are 9005) and silicone it back into the housing. i haven't had one burn out yet after doing this

HI, It may seem obvious, but sometimes overlooked.... have you checked the oil level, as low oil can cause some strange things to happen! My 96 4 liter would be reluctant to move sometimes, but after I topped it up, it has been fine.
