Replacing a heater core is a all day ugly job. You have to remove the dashboard and heater box. Its located behind the glove box. Best thing to do is buy a auto repair manual for your car and read up on this job.
Good luck and thanks for your question and I hope my suggestions help. burdfrenzy

Removal of heater core 1992 buick skylark

You locate the heater core by following the heater hoses in the engine compartment. These hoses need to be disconnected. Then, working inside the passenger compartment, take off all of the control panel. You'll see screws underneath if you lie on your back. The only trick is to pop out the vent louvers -- just pop them out with a screw driver. There are screws behind them. Take out the glove box. Take off the heater outlet duct and the heater core cover. Pull the heater core straight back to avoid breaking the drain tube. Remove some clamps and that's it.
