Not really a solution, but I had the same issue, and it just stopped. I think I broke it.

My speedometer for my 1988 dodge dynasty keeps jumping on me since i replaced my cv axle and washed out my engine compartment

if you changed the driver side axle the problem is probaly not from what you did. but if you changed the pass side axle, which has a gear cut into it that the speed sensor gear mesh with, that you probaly damaged the speed sensor gear, pull the speed sensor out of the extention housing on the pass side of the transmission and inspect for damage.on the gear. if no damage and the wires are clean and tight ,replac speed sensor.

1988 dodge dynasty 2.5 L is turning but there is no spark. there is fuel, the spertine belt is going. have already replaced the hall-effect switch with no new reseluts. have checked the coil and unplug...

Check first to see if the distributor is turning. If it is, the problem is either the pickup, coil, module, rotor, distributor cap or wiring.

Radiator on a 1988 dodge dynasty

most mechanics dont like for their customers to keep coming back for the same problems over and over because it makes them look bad and making you think that they dont know what they are doing so if it was me , being the cheap scape i am , would tell them to fix whats wrong for right now and i will be back for the other things later

White Smoke coming out of bonnet & exhaust, stinks of burning oil 1989 dodge dynasty is blowing out white smoke now, and it does smell like burning oil, i owned a 1988 dodge dynasty and it did the same...

Sounds typical of head gasket failure.

With this you get oil into cylinders / water into cylinders, burning oil, loosing water - but no leaks. "boiling" of radiator and overflows.

Check your coolant and oil levels - they will be low.

Get a few quotes for a head gasket replacement - and timing belt change, as it has to come off when you do this anyway & no sense putting an old one on - they often snap if retensioned.

If this solves your problem, please take a moment to rate as Fixya! thanks.
