Manual transmissions use gear oil, not automatic transmission fluid.
There will be a filler plug on the side of the gearbox. The gear oil should be filled up to the very bottom of the filler plug hole.

Oops my bad, upon further investigating and reading snorklebobbys post, I've found that I was definately wrong and the 95 Escort does indeed use automatic transmission fluid in the manual transmission.
Also have found that the filler plug on the side of the transmission is the same unit that the speedometer sensor is so that will need to be removed and you fill the transmission through that hole.

There is no dipstick for a manual trans. It uses automatic transmission fluid per your owner manual. If you don't have one, go to motorcraft.com, pro center, tech info, owner manual. then look up serice info or fluids in the index.

please rate if this helps.

There is no dipstick. To check level you need to crawl under/jack up, pull fill plug from side of trans and feel fluid. Usually if it's up enough a little will trickle out when you pull the plug.

Where do I check my transmission fluid on my 2005 Hyundai accent 5 speed 4 cyn

There will either be a dip stick marked transmission fluid on the opposite side of the oil dip stick or you will have to do it at the transmission itself. There will be a small dip stick or just simply a bolt halfway up. when the fluid comes out it is full.

Need to add transmission fluid to 5 speed manual transmission on 1992 Toyota Celica

Open the hood up. You will find two different types of sticks, one near the alternator to the belts side, which is yellow or white colored and one on the battery side. It is orange colored, round small cup like dip stick, secured with a safety lock on it. Press the lock a side with your thump and take the stick out. When you push the stick inside it will sit in place firmly with a click sound.
You can add the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) here.

on a manual transmission there is no dip stick. it is a sealed unit. in order to check the the level there is 2 bolts on the transmission. the one is on the front side that is your full level and place to add fluid. the second is on the front but closer the bottom. this one is to drain the fluid

How do I add transmission fluid to a 1992 Honda Accord

Locate the dip stick on the transmission its a very short one it on the front of the transmisson. Using a transmission funnel (it has a long skinny hose) pour fluid through the dipstick hole. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA, contact if you need more help

How can i put transmission fluid into my car,how much do i put in

Check the Level of the transmission fluid by pulling the Transmission dip stick. The colour of the dip stick is most likely red in colour and you need to check it with the car's engine running and hot. Pull the dip stick out clean it off and check it again. always check the second reading.
To fill the transmission, you need to fill it through the Transmission dip stick tube. Yes your going to need a thin funnel and good luck. Do not over fill the transmission. over filling will cause damage to the transmission.
Best thing is, if you have not done a transmission oil and filter change. Have it done at a Transmission shop and you'll know that the transmission level is fine and have them show you have to check and fill the Transmission. As time goes by and mileage get's high, the fluid will get contaminated and the filter plugged up which would in turn cause a transmission failure.
Good luck and hope this helps. Oh and the type of transmission fluid should be in your manuel or stamped on the dip stick.

Transmission fluid stick

No the manual transmisson does not have a stick. on the transmisson their are two plugs. One for draining and one for filling. In order to check the fluid, pull the higher plug out and feel with a finger in that hole for fluid. To set the level to the correct level you would need to drain and refill the trans. If no leaks are present you should be OK

Transmission dip stick

You have to buy one, can possibly get from wrecking yard but first make sure it is the same transmission by calling dealership and asking what years have the same trani.......must be the same because otherwise the length could be different and you would not get correct reading. But you really need one.
