Leaking intake manifold gaskets can cause misfires. They are low torque plastic gaskets that crack, sag and leak. Its a big job on an Astro

Try changing the coil that might be the problem. If there is an open in the coil then it would cause a misfire

2000 chevy astro van 4.3 v6/I changed dist.cap 4 times in 1 year rotor too/runs rough,hesitation,bad ildeing,could it be dist.gear /shaft are worn/got code po300

code p 0300 is random/ multiple misfires
each p 0300 code ( 0301,2,3,4 etc) indicates the piston at fault
this code can be from electrical , ( cap plugs wires etc ) but is mostly attributed to problem injectors and ecm injector controls --wiring and connections
check the other areas for the fault as you may be concentration on the wrong area

No spark at plug wires, but have spark at coil on 2002 chevy astro van

Is it a strong spark at the coil? If it is to weak it won't travel through the wire.

DTC P0302: Cylinder 2 misfire detected. Probable cause:
1. Check for latest control unit software update
2. Faulty PCM or ECM
3. Faulty fuel injector
4. Ignition system fault. Check ignition module, coil, spark plugs and wires even if these are new replacements
5. Fuel system problem

1992 CHEVY ASTRO VAN KEEPS MISSING HUSBAND CHANGED DISTRUBUTOR , CAP , WIRE, PLUGS, COMPUTER AND STILL MISSING WHAT COULD IT BE

missing is not always the plugs ,HT leads distributor . Most times it is from misfiring injectors and low fuel pressure.

Astro van MIL light is on. The code is P0303.

P0303 is cylinder #3 misfire detected. Start by changing the spark plug. If that doesn't clear it then try changing the plug wire. If that doesn't clear it, then you might need to look at the injector.

I would change out all the plugs at the same time, clear the light and see if it comes back. If it does then change all the plug wires, distributor cap and rotor (if it has them).

1998 Chev Astro 4.3L AWD. Rough idle & misfire Cylinder 6

Hi, the 4.3 liters have an injection system on them that can leak and will show up as a misfire. it is common but elusive to find. you might consider taking the van to a repair shop to have the problem diagnosed and go on from there.

Bucking and misfiring

you may be getting water on your computer leads. something is getting wet. check all spark plug wires. take off 1 spark plug wire at a time as engine is running replace if no change in sound. if you have a bad plug or wire this will be the best way to find out. should be an easy fix.
