Question about 1999 Ford Escort

1 Answer

Ford fiesta 2002 1.4 diesel lx

At 1100 rpm there seems to be a miss fire? At 30mph there seems to be a miss fire and at 70mph when accelerating? There seem to be a lack of power! The engine has been tested by a diesel speacialist and Hendy's but no fault has been found! (Turbo etc seems OK) The dealer I brought the car from agrees there is a fault when it is driven.

I have 2002 1.4tdci fiesta your problem seems similar to mine, when i nearly stop at a junction then try to pull away theres a slight delay before the car picks up again like a dead spot. This problem i have had since new ford were unable to sort this, but i am going to take the car to tuning specialist to see if they can find whats wrong. The engine seems to sound dry if that makes sence. Would like to know if yours is the same.

I have a ford fiesta 2006 diesel manual car , last night when i start my its showa yellow light in the rpm metre and i try to increase the speed but its would not go more than 30kms and my car suddnlt

The light is the engine light and the reason that you cannot go fast is because the CPU is in limp mode. Check the oil and water levels and check engine operating temperature. Have the codes read to find the sensor that put the car in limp mode to protect the engine and gear box.

Misfiring when accelerating

pull the injectors and have the tips cleaned as they are miss-firing from the excessive pressure when extra fuel is trying to pass through.

Loss of power in acceleration

I would check the fuel pressure first.
If the engine was miss-firing the check engine light should be on.

Ford fiesta diesel endura turn's over & try's

Normally, only 2 things stop a diesel from firing:
1. no fuel
2. not enough compression

No fuel can be caused by (obviously no fuel) or a failed fuel pump. To test, have someone turn the engine over and then sniff at the exhaust - does it smell of unburned diesel? (If you've run out of diesel recently, you may have an airlock in the system, this needs bleeding out.)

Not enough compression needs specialised equipment to test - that's a garage job.

My fiesta mk5 zetec-s 1.6 is pinking alot loss

dealer only ,pinking is caused by timing being thrown out and its firing too early,by your spelling i asume your in the UK which means that your vehicle hasnt got an OBDII connector ,only fitted to vehicles after 2005 in europe so a cheap scanner wont help .Exactly whats playing up i havent a clue without plugging it in ,if you are in the UK have a middle of scate /chips /and nice big wally for me please
