Dear,
Please check if:
1) Battery cable connected well.
2) Fuses and relays related to fuel pump and ignition system.

Location of fuel pump relay

A fuel pump relay will not effect spark, and you can usually listen to the fuel pump to hear it kick in 1 sec before you crank the vehicle over. Are you sure you are not getting spark? How did you test for spark?

New fuel pump and still wont start

do you hear fuel pump operation if yes replace fuel filter.if you dont hear fuel pump running could have open short in fuel pump harness or could have faulty fuel pump relay faulty automatic shut down relay, fuse or PCM.if fuel system okay check for spark at spark plugs no spark could have faulty ignition coil, camshaft sensor or crankshaft position sensor.

Not sure if its the same as a 2001, but I have a 2002 Accent. My son was driving it and it sputtered to a stop. It turns over but doesnt fire. I am thinking its the fuel pump. Do you think its the fuel...

Sounds like a fuel pump, maybe ignition coil, but more likely fuel pump.Check 1 or 2 plugs to see if you have spark since that's easy enough to at least verify.Pull the plug, plug the wire back on to the spark plug, hold the little plate of the spark end up against the engine block, and turn over real quick. If you don't see anything first time, try once or twice more.Try another plug.If they both spark...you have spark lol. That leaves fuel and air.Even with a serious air problem,it should start and is not likely to just quit.Fuel pump probably is difficult.I have a 1995 and it is under the back seat as a cap on top of the tank :( Pulling off the seat was easy. There is a lock ring on the cap/pump that was slightly rusty, enough so that I had to buy a used tank and a new pump.If you want more specific location of your fuel pump, call the dealer or a shop.Someone will usually give you free advice to attract future business.
Good luck! Greg

FIRST GET A SPARK TESTER TO SEE IF YOU ARE GETTING SPARK AT SPARK PLUGS.IF NOT CHECK IGNITION MODULE FUSE.IF FUSE GOOD HAVE CAR HOOK UP TO SCANNER LOOK FOR IGNITION MODULE FAULT CRANKSHAFT SENSOR FAULT AND PCM FAULT.IF ALL LOOK GOOD SO FAR.CHECK TO SEE IF FUEL PUMP WORKING.CHECK PUMP FUEL PRESSURE IT SHOULD BE 41 - 47 PSI. IF NOT REPLACE FUEL FILTER STILL LOW REPLACE FUEL PUMP.IF FUEL PUMP NOT WORKING AT ALL CHECK FUEL PUMP FUSE AND RELAY.IF BOTH IS GOOD FUEL PUMP AT FAULT.BUT SCAN TO CHECK FOR PCM FAULT CODES IT CONTROL SPARK AND FUEL SYSTEM.MAKE SURE SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES IS GOOD. ALSO CHECK FUEL INJECTORS FUSE ALSO.

if you replace module and still had no spark. then it was not the module it could be the ignition coil. you need spark no spark no run...check power to the distrbutor. check that the distrbutor is turning.

1997 dodge ram won't start. My fuel pump does not run and coil won't spark. Iv'e checked fuses and relays and they look fine. Could a bad fuel pump cause the asd to kill power to the coil?

First check any ignition/fuel related fuses. Check to make sure you have 12 volts coming into the pump and coil. If nothing to the fuel pump replace the fuel pump relay - if you do have power to the fuel pump then replace the pump. If nothing is coming to the coil it is either an ignition relay or a wiring issue. If you have 12 volts to the coil but no spark then replace the coil.
Also the fuel pump/relay would not kill the coil.

1995 blazer was running rough, now not starting

if you believe some one put water or bad gas in your tank, then you will have to drain the tank. however, to know if you have water in your gas, first disconnect fuel return line or the line that goes in to the fuel pressure regulator put some fuel in a clear glass and let it sit for 15min.if you see white cloud at the bottom of the glass or water. drain the tank. if not check for spark by removing one spark plug wire and spark plug. place the spark plug in the spark plug wire boot and touch it on the metal part of the car. do not touch the spark plug itself only the booth with the plug in the boot. have some one crank the car over. if you see spark, the spark part is ok. but if no spark, check the coil with a volt meter it should be 3 to 8 ohm if not replace the coil. if ok, check for fuel by removing one spark plug or two and see if they are wet,if wet pump is ok. if not check the fuel pump relay and fuse. if fuse is blown replace. check relay with a volt meter. resistance of the relay should be between 40 to 80 ohm. not mega ohm,if mega ohm, replace. if not , listen to the fuel pump while some one is cranking the car. if you donot hear the pump, disconnect the pump electrical connector and applive 12 volt and ground to the pump by using a jumper or any wire and listen for pump sound. if not replace the pump. if there is sound coming from the pump, it is ok. check the fuel pressure regulator with a fuel pressure gauge or simply disconnect the vaccum from the regulator and try starting the car. if fuel pump is ok and spark is ok. then it maybe the computer or the crank position signal. also check the fuel filter it may be clog.
