AFTER REPLACING U-JOINTS & HANGER BEARING ON MY 1995 VOLVO 960 I HAVE VIBRATION AT SPEED PARTICULARLY UNDER ACCELERATION. I TRIED ANOTHER SHAFT AND IS WORSE. I THINK IT MIGHT BE HANGER BEARING ALI

did you mark the two ends of the shaft at gearbox and diff
so they lined up again
with the center bearing replacement
did you mark the two halves before separating and replacing the center bearing
then make sure they lined up again

if vibration is there
you may need to go to a diff shop and have the drive shaft balanced properly

very informed drive shaft write up.. on volvos

Why is my AWD subaru only 2WD?

you will likely need to replace the following:
Duty C Solenoid
Transfer Clutch Pack
Reduction gear
All of these parts are located in the tail end of the 4EAT automatic transmissions. The reduction gear can separate from its hub and damage the above mentioned parts too.

Slack at rear driveshaft slip yoke and transfer case with driveline vibration

replace the drive shaft as the splines will be worn out especially if on the front shaft. Check u-joints for wear as they work at max angle and are prone to early failure If the front has sagged (weak springs) the angle gets worse.

I need instructions on replacing the clutch in a '94 Chevy Blazer 4x4, 350 engine. Specifically the pilot bearing, throwout bearing.

The pilot bearing is pressed into the flywheel and you need a pilot bearing/bushing puller. Some A/P stores will rent it to you for free (deposit). the throwout bearing is held onto the clutch fork normally by clips. Sometimes you have to take the "fork" out to get the bearing off.

Make sure to note how "deep' the pilot bearing/bushing is so that when you install the new one it is set at the right depth.

I have a 2006 chev 2500 HD. The steering wheel and 4x4 shifter shake very bad at 50mph. It has had a new transfer case put in, driveshaft balanced and all four tires checked. The vibration goes away if you...

u need to check rear end with the drive shaft removed vibration goes away would lead me to believe you have bad bearings in the rear end more than likely the pinion bearing
pull cover off (while fluid draining check to see if there a lot of metal in oil )
if you do see metal in fluid or laying in rear end you need rear end rebuilt or replaced
i wouldn't recommend doing the rebuild your self because with out the special tools and knowleage u can make matters worse

Pick up seems to drag/vibrate esp at 1st gear even though the ff. have been replaced: release bearing, clutch disk, pressure plate, transmission support, center bearing and cross joints. gear oil are all...

My 96 Nissan 4x4 did this especially in first and in second as well if accelerating hard and also more pronounced if hauling heavy items. It turned out that the front yoke on the driveshaft linking the transfer case with the front differential was rusted and frozen to the portion of the driveshaft on which it is supposed to slide. If your truck is not four-wheel-drive this will not be the cause of your vibration. If your truck is 4x4 and this is the cause of your vibration and it has been doing it for a while, check your engine mounts as the vibration can damage/break them--especially the left one.

sounds like the clutch packs are worn out or not enough oil pressure engaging the first gear clutch pack.
