Question about 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

The factory alarm on our 1998 Grand Cherokee Jeep is going off. How can we disable. We have found some fuses under the hood but don't know which one if any we should pull. We do not have a manual. The alarm went off when we opened the door. This has never happened before. We can get the horn to stop but the the lights continue to flash and the ignition is disabled. Please help

You have to disable it.

Here's a link to jeepforum.com that shows you how to disable the alarm in a step by step pictorial. This procedure is for ZJ (Grand Cherokee) models 1993 - 1998

Good luck.

I have a 1993 jeep Cherokee and the alarm is going off and i can't start the car.

If it's not a factory alarm locate the alarm unit and the main power line running to that alarm and remove the in line fuse from that line. That will disable the alarm and should disable the starter kill switch that is installed.

Need fuse diagram from 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Don't have owner's manual. The fuse box under hood has words on it, but not the one inside on passenger's side near floorboard
