Make sure you id this motor before taking it to the machine shop. then get some steel letter stamps and mark it with your last 4 of your ss# or something you can prove.{stamps are like 10 to 20 bucks from places like harbor freight}. i had a case where i took a running 426 to mch shop, then two weeks later called to come and examine a block where therod had been thrown. it was not my block, but i couldn't prove it. the block was junk and they had one to sell me for $2,000.00 ,also if the plug wires go in to the middle of the valve cover ITS A HEMI. have fun ...

Restoring....get your bank account in order, lol.Smallblock Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth...273,318,340,360 are all of the "LA" family and have the distributor in the rear of the engine, close to the firewall.Bigblock V8's,361,383,400,426,440..all have the distributor in the front of the engine,on the passenger side, mounted at an angle. This is the easiest way to visually identify small block or big block.Back then, they didnt use Liters, only cubic inches. When i say 273,426..etc...that is the engine's cubic inch displacement. You can order a parts book for your car from Year One,they specialize in restoration parts, and the book also contains information on how to further identify and decipher many things about your particular car. Also contains factory horsepower ratings for individual engines.I have a 1973 Plymouth RoadRunner with a 360 putting out about 450 horsepower at the crankshaft.Mopar or no car.

1977 dodge cruise control fuse

Hello Jill Walker,

I am a keeper & lover of old cars... so I has no idea it was nearly impossible to find fuse data on something as new as a '77 Dodge.

I did go looking... (for FREE sites)... Sorry
(very good reasonably priced books below).

Before you get too deep into fuse hunts I will tell you MY EXPERIENCE has been the most common failure of CRUISE CONTROLS of this vintage was the vacuum bellows used to open the throttle (would crack at the edge (easy to test: QUICKLY using an UNCONTROLLED vacuum line... or vacuum test pump)),

Professional grade SHOP MANUALS usually have decent wiring diagrams & schematics... but
FACTORY (DEALER) MANUALS are the absolute best...!!

At the bottom I will post an eBay link ... showing the WRONG YEAR... (only to give you and idea what you are looking for)...

How to remove the rear axles on a 59 dodge coronet?

If the axles are not bolted in behind the brake shoes then they are held in with "C" clips and you must remove the rear cover and then the spider gears and the "C" clips to get them out.
