The control wont switch from heat to ac

No there is not a way that you can reach the issue the part casing this without removing the dash completely. You have a failure in the temperature control blend door and or actuator motor. This job is way over the skill level or most DIY home mechanics, the dealer is the best option, cost is about $1200.00 depending on local labor rates. Get three estimates. The price will vary widely.

Where is the blend door located onn a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis

A blend door is located within the air distribution housing, under the dash. This area is very delicate to work on and it is easy to destroy non replaceable parts. I suggest that a qualified shop do this job for you...

Look for worn, damaged, or loose vacume hoses..

Mercury 2004 Grand Marquis blend door failure

replace the blend door motor, unless the blend door itself is broken then theres a replacement door or box that need to be installed, this is a big job, the dash needs to be removed to do this job and ac system drained of freon with an ac machine.

2003 mercury grand marquis LS heater does notr blow hot air, blower blows but cold air comes what is the problem

The blend door is stuck in cold position. That usually happens because the blend door actuator has failed.

You will need to test and replace the blend door actuator.

To replace the actuator you will need to take apart the dash and remove completely the instrument panel,d isconnect the connector, remove the four screws, remove the temperature blend door actuator and replace it.

The replacement is not a job for beginners, since you have to take apart the dash to access the actuator.

Regards.

1999 Merc Gran Marquis Need to replace blend door motor. I found a site that said i had to remove dash. I think if i can get the passinger airbag out, including it's cover i can get to it from there. how...

The air bag is bolted in from the back, remove the glove box door and the liner/compartment, I used to get at the motor from there without removing the airbag, it is hard but do-able.
