Question about 2004 Honda Civic
Our 2004 Honda Civic SI was stolen, even though it supposedly had passive immobilizer and steering wheel wasn't broken. How was this possible? SEF
Since the ignition key cylinder wasn't damaged, i can think of a few possible sernarios.
- a tow/repo truck was used
- if you bought the car used, the previous owner had a copy of the key and used it to gain access and start the car.
- if you have taken the car to a honda dealership for service/repairs, someone at the dealership may have encoded (the transponder on) a duplicate key. they would also have no problem looking up your address.
