Sounds like the engine oil passages are sludged up, commom with lack of oil changes. you can try one of the additives made for this problem, availble at autoparts stores. good luck.

Your second question depends entirely on the engine in question.
On a pushrod V8 the oil usually is metered by the valve lifters and goes to the rockers through hollow pushrods; a few drops of oil are released by the lifters during each valve stroke. Until full oil pressure and warm oil are in all of the oil passages, the oil to the rockers will be less than that of a warm running engine. The rockers really don't need huge quantities of oil, it is a lot harder to get oil to the valve stems.
You may want to make sure you have good oil pressure and the valves are properly adjusted [even on a hydraulic lifter system there are limits to how much the lifters will self adjust].

If you have an overhead cam engine, you will need lots of oil on the lifters and cams.

Oil leak

Check if the oil is coming from somewhere else. There is no oil or oil passages at the egr valve. The vacuum diaphragm is a ported vacuum signal (from just below the throttle valve, ported vacuum means it only gets vacuum when the throttle plate is opened by the gas pedal-like off idle). The valve is mounted in the intake manifold, and the exhaust gas reaches the valve from a pipe from the exhaust manifold. There just is no oil around the egr valve.

what is possible is that a valve seat insert came loose and prevented the valve from closing properly and it hit the piston
you should check the oil at least weekly and if there is an oil usage problem , daily
sound like a dealer didn't want to acknowledge faulty workmanship as it always the "drivers fault" when things go wrong

1998 Chevy Malibu is using excessive oil. Had an oil change done back in October 2012 . Then checked Oil level in December of 2012 and was about 3/4 low in oil! why ?

first thing check make sure oil pan drain plug tight. check make sure oil filter tight. try tighten oil filter by hand see if turn tighten oil filter clockwise direcction if all is good. how many miles on vechicle.could have oil leaks park vechicle in spot that clean.move vechicle see if you see oil spots on ground if yes.your front timing cover seal leaking oil or rear main oil seal ;eaking.or valve cover gaskets leaking.if find no oil leaks more likely engine burning oil.replace pcv valve.check air filter if you see oil in air filter housing either have bad pcv valve or pcv not getting vacuum make sure pcv valve getting vacuum when engine running vacuum should be felt at pcv if not pcv valve bad or pcv hose disconnected broken or plugged.if pcv valve okay engine has worn piston rings.worn valve seals or guides or oil return holes stopped up thats all possible reasons for engine burning oil.if spark plugs oil fouled engine burning oil.

1990 triton oil pressure relief valve location

Hi Lee, There are two oil pressure relief valves on most vehicles. One is fitted onto the oil pump assembly and another onto the oil filter housing assembly. The oil pump pressure relief valve is located at the front of the engine and is accessed via a blind nut on the side of the unit. The bolt is in the form of a cap, which when removed can be seen to be holding down under tension a spring, which in turn presses the valve. If the pressure becomes too high the valve body is pushed upwards and releases an amount of oil, thereby maintaining the required pressure. The valve built into the oil filter housing works in much the same way, but its job is to allow oil circulation in the event of a blocked oil filter. regards John

If you can supply me with all the codes your vehicle is showing, I can assist you. As far as the P1111 DTC goes I have listed the info below with some possible solutions.

P1111- Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve Circuit Bank 1

Intake valve timing control solenoid valve is activated by ON/OFF pulse duty (ratio) signals from the ECM. The intake valve timing control solenoid valve changes the oil amount and direction of flow through intake valve timing control unit or stops oil flow. The longer pulse width advances valve angle. The shorter pulse width retards valve angle. When ON and OFF pulse widths become equal, the solenoid valve stops oil pressure flow to fix the intake valve angle at the control position. The code is triggered when an improper voltage is sent to the ECM through intake valve timing control solenoid valve. Since the Intake valve timing control solenoid valve uses oil flow to control timing, dirty oil can cause the valve to stuck open or close. Before replacing the valve, change engine oil and filter and reset engine code.

Possible Causes:
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve bank 1 circuit is open or shorted.
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve bank 1 circuit connectors
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve bank 1
- Dirty Oil

Possible Solutions:

I have an oil leak in a spark plug chamber how do is fix it

depends where the oil came from.of it has leaked down from a valve cover gasket,that is not hard to fix.if it a leaking valve seal that is expensive and if the head gasket is leaking,expensive.look at the outside edge of the valve cover,and check the edge for oil.if there is alot of oil,by the time the plug is unscrewed oil can go inside.the oil would burn off,so if there is oil inside it is dripping down probably from a valve seal.take off the valve cover and inspect the seals they are probably no good.there are 2 seal sets,one is in the valve cover,and that results in oil on the outside of the plug,and the actual valve seal which results in oil in the inside of the engine.

Oil on the spark plugs

Usually the valve cover seals are bad. There is a seal on the valve cover for each sparkplug tube. Check the seals. If they are bad than there will be oil on the spark plugs.
If there is oil on the spark plug electrode than probably valve guides going bad.
