O2 sensor wiring diagram

You never use a Universal Oxygen Sensor & have to solder it in

Makes no sense

Buy an NTK from Rock Auto.Com & just plug it in

Front # 24169
Rear # 24546

Runs ruff after changing plugs and plug wire

I have owned several new vehicles
over the last 50 years & seldom change
plug wires

In fact, I fail to see why people do that

I would guess you put the problem in there

Yes-- I have tens of thousands of dollars in
tools & test equipment,so I test every thing

Obviously if something fails a test, it gets replaced

If you had no problem to begin with & were just changing
plugs & I suggest every 3 years, then you some how failed
to make a diagram of the cylinders, coil pack, wire locations,
before you started

You need to know the cylinders & firing order also,
in case you get messed up

Loose the front oxygen sensors, if you have 100,000
on them

Clean the MAF Sensor

Check for Vacuum Leaks

Get the new wires on correctly & use
a ball point pen to make the cylinder #
on both ends & get your diagram drawn
for next time

Yamaha yfz r125 engine light on constantly, but engine runs ok

Close but not quite.
ECU handles tacho not speedo.
Speedo has it's own pickup usually on rear wheel hub or hall sensor on output shaft if not flexible cable direct drive from front wheel

Where do i find and repair the oxygen sensors on 2003 gmc envoy

95% of all Oxygen Sensors are in two places

The Front or Upstream Sensors, the ones that do all the work,
reporting oxygen in the exhaust converter, are in the converter
inlet & if not, in the pipe just before it

Some Foreign Vehicles have them next to the motor but in the
exhaust manifold

You also have Rear or Downstream Sensors called Monitors
they are in the converter outlet

The front ones get replaced at 100,000 miles in my world
or before, if they fail

The rear monitor do not get changed ,as they do not do much
eg: they do not constantly switch voltage, as they only look at
converter efficiency, the converter should last 12 to 14 years
If it does not, then the car has been running with all sorts of
problems for years

90% of all sensors use a 22mm or 15/16" wrench or a similar
O2 Socket/Wrench

Just because you have a code does not mean you change parts

No Codes tell you what is wrong
No Codes tell you to change something

I'm guessing after 9 years or more you could meet my
100,000 mile rule & change the front 2 if you have 2

You won't have the test equip & experience to scope them
& watch Voltage or Switching times or Scan Tool Data &
Fuel Trim &all that stuff

You go to Rock Auto.Com & buy the best parts avail & cheaper
than the auto parts store even with the shipping

Get NGK/NTK or Bosch
They may have a different color plastic wire connector
more wire than the OE ones
Just loop the wire & wire tie

Plastic wire ties are at Wal Mart & Home Depot

Hi there:
DTC P0037 - Bank 1 Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Low

DTC P0057 - Bank 2 Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Low

Cause could be harnesses connections, wiring, HO2S heater itself or ECM issue. Diagram location in THIS LINK.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

2004 Chevrolet Aveo replacing the oxygen sensor's need to know how long the wires are both front and back to order a less expensive brand they have different lengths.

You do not order anything

You DO NOT BUY a universal O2 Sensor

You go to NAPA Etc & buy the OEM Correct
Sensor, with the right length wires & just install it.

You don't replace the rear monitor or back sensors,
just the front ones, closest to the engine & only at
100,000 miles or when they fail

You should be testing any sensor before you replace one.

If you got a Code ,that doesn't mean you replace a sensor

2004 honda accord v6: check light comes and then goes off. Mechanic did hand held computer scan. code reads p2240 and he says oxygen sensor needs cleaning. Please advise, Harry.

hi.
that code means there is a fault at the bank 2 oxygen sensor.
as you stand at the frond of the car and look into the engine bay, the sensor is fitted to the middle of the exhaust manifold nearest to you. disconnect the wires on the plug, and i think it is a 22mm spanner or deep socket to remove it.
there are various proprietary oxygen sensor cleaners on the market, but there is no certainty that this will work. there could be an actual fault with the sensor, or it may be too dirty to clean.

if finances permit, i would recommending changing the sensor as a matter of course.

the ecu fault reading can be reset by removing the battery -ve lead for 30 minutes.
make sure you have the radio code before doing this as you will need to reset this as well.

if you only clean the sensor and the fault reading comes back, then you will have to change the sensor and reset the ecu again.

hope this helps.
