Question about 2005 Dodge Dakota
This sounds like the traction control light. this system uses the antilock brakes to keep you from spinning your wheels. it will light for a second or two during the intial lamp check during start up, but if it's staying on all the time you either have the system manually shut down (look for a switch)or a malfuntion which will need to be checked with a scan tool. the only other time this light should come on is when the system is active, as when it's keeping you from spinning your wheels. you can usually hear the abs pump cycling when the system is doing its' job.
