It might be caused by a bad rocker or lifter.

1999 escort making knocking noise when i let off of gas ped.when car is parked and you rev engine it makes loud noise after you let off gas ped

this could be a rocker noise that is more noticeable under these conditions or it could be a colapsed piston skirt thats starting to go bad.its hard to say for sure when trying to diag noises on the internet.its possible it could be a loose timing belt,i`ve had that happen before as well.

Oil leaking onto my timing belt on a 99 ford escort lx 2.0 sohc small knocking from engine head was replaced and all gaskets misfire happens and then it shutsoff or sputter

if you have oil leaking that severe, chances are that one of your spark plug holes have oil in them causing your misfire..in that case it would sound that you need to replace your valve cover gasket
to check pull one by one you ignition wire up from valve cover and check for oil in hole and on boot

hope this helps

I have a tappin sound on my 1999 ford escort what could

that's cause your endine is about to die. check your oil level all the time like once a day. sounds like your rods are tapping and it's not worth fixing usually unless you treated your car like gold maintenance wise it's whole life

Knocking sound coming from left rear wheel when making a right turn

sounds like you have a wheel bearing going out. Do yourself a favor and make sure you have all your windows down and someone else to listen for the noise besides yourself just to make sure which wheel the noise is actually coming from

I Have A 93 Ford Escort Lx Im Having A Problem Accelerating After Driving It For About Ten Minutes I Will Drive It For A Little Then When I Come To A Stop Light It Sputters And Jumps Around And Sometimes...

By the sounds of it, its like once your car gets hot its starts playing up. You should run a compression test on all ur cylinders..you can get a tester from your local automotive store quite cheap, you just screw it in or shove it in and hold it, start the car and use the throttle cable hinge to rev the car slowly up to redline.. do that while the engine is quite hot though to get a more accurate reading, especially because i think thats when your car starts playing up (when its hot) im just going to say it should be around 140 for all cylinders.. just double check that and cross check your readings with ford. It also could be a ECU problem, once your car is running hot (normal temp) the tuning is wrong.

1994 Ford Escort Transaxle Noise

I guess you know no matter what the noise is the transmission will have to come out and be overhauled, one question, have you checked the CV joints on the axle shafts?

Knocking in cylinder head of escort 1.8 lx td

Hi

Engine knock, if it is coming from low down in the block, is usually caused by worn big ends, and is more pronounced at idle or under load.

Diesels, however have the added bonus of being able to create a nice knock due bad fuel atomisation, overfuelling, or excess oil burning.

Bad fuel atomisation is usually caused by dirty injectors.

Excess oil burning is usually caused by a worn turbo amongst other things.

Very best regards

Geordie
