There's a lot of talk on the net about the Emergency warning light switch. Does that affect your solution? LC

Hi,

About your vehicle, The common issue on these for this problem is the turn signal flasher. This unit is integral to the hazard switch in the dash. Replace that to correct this problem. It cannot be reset by pressing emergency light buttons or any other combination of keys.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hello i can offer a solution sounds as if one of your turn signal bulbs have burned out what you will need to do is turn the ignition to the on position do not start. Now turn the left signal on if it is flashing walk around the car for a visual to see if both front and back and side are working if all are working now turn the right signal on and proceed same procedure if you see Noe not light up this would be the one to change. If both side sides are lighting up then you will need to change your signal flasher relay located in your fuse box.The f=es box is usually in the left side of drivers knee area or in the glove compartment make and models location varies. This will be marked on your fuse panel diagram witch is clay a black square box usually 1 inch square simple pull out and replace. Once replace you will need to repeat those steps to be sure all signals have now been restored.

Why do my turn signals work sometimes and then not other times?

Instead of a flasher relay, GM used a circuit in the flasher module.
I had the same problem. I found the solution on a Pontiac Grand Am forum. This was posted in 2006.."Many Grand Am's had a recall on the hazard switch causing the signal to stop working. Next time it happens turn on then off your hazard lights and see if the turn signals start working again. If so go to a local dealership and see if your car falls under that recall (free fix)."
I ordered one on line for $12.00 or $15.00 ,PartsGeek I think.
Put it in and fixed my problem . Good luck. c19e6e54-281d-4238-b776-03b104c1e1a1.jpg

I am having a problem with my emergency flashers on my 2001 chevrolet impala, when i press the button for them to come on they work fine, but when I press the button for them to go off they go off but the...

Good Evening Faith. General motors had problems with thier combination hazard switch. The reason it is called a combination hazard switch is because it is also your turn signal and hazard flasher. On the Oldsmobile Alero, pontiac grand am there was a recall, as far as the impalas and monte carlos I cannot say for certain. Your local parts house (autozone, Advanced, Oreilleys) should have them or be able to order it. That should correct your problem. Hope this helps.

Turning signals not working all the time

Sounds like the blinker relay. Is the emergency flasher switch on the dash above the radio ? If it is the blinkers relay is the same as the emergency relay. If the blinkers stop working pound on the emergency lights switch and if they start working then replace the emergency lights relay switch cause the blinkers is on the same relay as the emergency lights. My 2001 Grand Am does the same and I just hit the emergency lights switch and they start working again.

2001 Impala TPMS reset, radio and headlight options DONT WORK

CHEVY IMPALA &
MONTE CARLO

On a Chevy Impala or Monte Carlo with indirect TPMS, a totally different reset procedure is required. You can use the light switch or radio to reset the system. With the light switch procedure, turn the ignition on (engine off), the turn the light switch from OFF to parking lamps three times within five seconds. With the radio technique, turn the ignition on (engine off). With the radio off, hold the DISP button until “SETTINGS” is displayed. Use the SEEK button to scroll down the menu until you see “TIRE MON.” Press the PREV or NEXT buttons until “RESET” is displayed. Then press the DISP button again. You should hear a chime and see “DONE” to indicate the TPMS system has been successfully reset. Use the SEEK button to scroll through the menu until “DONE” is shown, then press DISP once more to exit from the learn mode.

Brake lights quit working on the driver and passenger sides but the top middle lighgt works.running light and back up lights work no blowns fuses good bulbs. very puzzeling!

I recently had this problem,it appears to be in the emergency flasher button.at first no brake lights but center one worked. the emergency button was stuck and hard to move but once i got it loose i had all brake lights, so thinking my problem was solved i checked all lights and then found i had no signal lights, i went bach to the flasher button because it was still very hard to move and pressed down further and all lights work now so i think this will cure most turn and brake signal problems. the flasher button is rarely used and collects dust so it starts to stick and when you dust your dash or bump the button it will stick between contacts and the lights stop working. hope this helps!!
