The local high school auto shop recently replaced the radiator in my 2006 Yukon and did not connect the oil lines correctly. The oil leaked out and the engine stopped.

A lot depends on how long the engine ran without oil. If the starter will still crank it, you might be lucky. If the engine has a lot of miles on it, it might be best to overhaul it, since rings and crankshaft bearings suffer the most .

2008 Saturn Aura XE with p225/50r17 tire but tire info plate on B pillar is unreadable. Anyone know what pressure should be? Please don't tell me to read tire side - as most info plates have lower...

All tires have suggested manufacturer tire pressure displayed on tire sidewall along with other seemingly useless information. Tire may display both a minimum and maximum inflation. The 2007 Saturn Aura we have states the pressure to be 35 minimum, and 44 maximum, although ours uses the 18 inch tire. Check the sidewall to be correct.

Why do i have high oil pressure on a 2006 yukon (80psi)

Not uncommon for oil pressure to read @ 80psi when oil is cold an thicker or a heavier weight oil, however, does it fluctuates or simply stays @ 80psi cold or at running temp? if so, its normal, if it stays there and doesn't move, that may a bad guage or sending unit. consider this and get back. What is the reason of high oil pressure?

It may be a faulty reading caused by the oil pressure sending unit its on the vary back of the engine near the distubtor and you need a specily socket to fit over it to remove

While my truck is running my oil pressure gauge reads full. The gauge zeroes out when you shut the truck off yet it goes up to maximum when I start it again. Nothing seems wrong with the truck. What's up?

The gauge is reading higher oil pressure than it should on the gauge. The gauge has a resistor that is shorting out so a replacement is needed

2006 Yukon Denali, oil pressure gauge malfunction

Most likely the oil pressure sensor is bad. Its located in the very rear of engine on top of bell housing area.

Oil pressure gauge suddenly reads maximum

Are you referring to the oil pressure gauge on the dash? If so, that is most likely the oil pressure sending unit having gone bad. The sensor runs about $40 - 50 (at least the last time I had to replace one on that engine). They are not terribly difficult to replace and I believe its a three wire sensor located back side of the engine, on the passenger side area. Its in a kind of tight spot and takes a bit to get it completely screwed out, but it can be done.

When they go bad, they typically will cause the gauge on the dash to read maximum oil pressure. You should be okay to run like that until you can get a new sensor as long as it is reading maximum oil pressure on the gauge and not low or no oil pressure on the gauge.

5.3 L Yukon XL oil pressure problems

Well first the GM oil pressure sending units are notorious for false readings, so what you must do is remove the oil pressure sending unit and plug in a test mechanical gage to verify the engine has acceptable oil pressure, after you are certain the pressure is ok replace the sending unit, it requires a special socket to remove it, the socket is about $5.00 USD. There is a deep socket and a shallow, so check the sending unit for the correct socket fit.
