Clutch Problem-Clutch is acting as if it does not fully disengage when it is let out fully-just started doing this yesterday with no adjustment to the clutch performed by me.

If the clutch is a manual clutch you might be able to adjust the cable. It yours is hydralic (and I think it is) you will have to replace the clutch.

CHECK CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER.SOUND LIKE BRAKE FLUID LOW.IF BRAKE FLUID LOW LOOK FOR LEAKS AROUND CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER AND CHECK FOR LEAKS AROUND BRAKE LINES AND CHECK FOR LEAKS AROUND CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER HYDRALIC LINE FITTING. REASON PEDAL GOING TO FLOOR YOU HAVE FLUID LEAK WHICH WILL CAUSE AIR TO GET IN THE CLUTCH HYDRALIC SYSTEM. YOU HAVE TO LOCATE LEAK FIX AND BLEED THE CLUTCH HYDRALIC SYSTEM.

I have a 1998 volkswagen cabrio and I cannot seem to get the clutch cable to fit it is to much play in it and the clutch is to the ground.

If its a cable then it needs adjustment, then you can adjust the cable on the transmission; however if its hydralic, then the clutch slave cylinder needs replacing.
