Normally you would get a code for this but I would still check it out as if the fault is intermitent then you might not get a code.

Check these 3

1 EGR valve, exhaust gas recycler valve
2 air mass or MAF sensor
3 check your air pipes for any holes, poor seals or sucking in too much air, rev the engine while someone stands at the front, you can normally here any excess suction

all these could cause this fault.

Hope this helps, difficult to say without the code but these look likely.

Engine cuts out, steering locks on braking - scary! Help!

What is possibly happening is when you brake, there is a vacuum leak caused by the power brake system, this reduces the engine rpm, which in turn effects the power steering which makes it feel like the steering is locking up. This can also happen with a vacuum leak anywhere in the engine or things like a faulty idle adjustment control.... Turn the vehicle on, place your foot on the brake, if the idle speed increases dramatically you have a problem. Then put the vehiclein drive with your foot on the brake. If it nearly dies, again, you have an issue.
There are many different things on an engine that can create vacuum leaks. EGR Valves, IAC solenoid, PCV valves, the list goes on....
Good luck finding this particular issue!

Parked my land rover 2003, went back in 2 hours used remote key to unlock the car, but steering wheel would not unlock, could not start the car, could not even turn the steering wheel, help.

sounds like
  1. your key has been damaged
  2. or locking pin the the steering lock meck has jammed or
  3. the mech at the back of the lock with the wires has jamme
, have you a spare key ? if still has the fault try forcing the wheel left and right while trying key see if that frees it, remove the wire connector from back of lock, try again if not then the barrel may be at fault the it will need cutting off there are 2 "shear bolts" which need cutting in to and then unscrewing to release the barrel , best doing all this with battery disconnected

Jaguar s-type gearbox fault when on motorway

Check under the driver side fuse box which below left of the steering wheel if there is any dampness then it s screwing the ecu, this could be due to a seal leak in the window or holes near the axle.ALso the transmission needs fluid to be change as most jag trans fluid need replacing before 75k, clearing the codes will clear the engine light which also improve the cars shifting.

Fault code 1 1 3

Try replacing the coil wire.  This is an inexpensive option and will improve the consistency of current to the distributor.  This wire goes from the center of the distributor cap to the ignition coil.    Best of luck!   Michael Mittelsdorf

Ford focus

It could be an engine mapping problem. There should be a fault code generated by this incident.Take your car to a ford dealer to have it checked out. No engine = difficult steering and next to no brakes, not nice.
