code P0420 & P0430 usually indicates a problem with catalitic coverter restriced/clogged
a muffler shop can run a test to check this .a misfire in engine can also be a culprit of coverter
going bad because of unburned fuel going through exhaust system

I have 2001 Suzuki Vitara, just recently was having problems with car cutting off or put putting, so I took to a mechanic we replace fuel filter, check engine light was staying on he pur computer on it I...

Relaced all that and didn't check the catalitic converter. When you get codes for MAF sensor and 02 Sensors, the first place to check is vacuum leaks, if none are found then it would go right to the catalitic converter. You might want to consider another mechanic.

Car runs but is lacking power. It is also throwig out black smoke. RAC guy has checked for faults using his computer but there is none showing. The egr valve has been changed but has made very little...

Have the catalitic converters checked. Also if your driving for awhile when you stop look under the car and if you see the coverters glowing red they are bad.

My Prelude is carb not fuel injected, mus I mayb buy carburator cleaner an spray the hole can in it....or what?

here is the deal you use carb cleaner evrything yo spray into it will run it threw the engine and if you get caburator cleaner get berry-mans chemtool it's the best spray cleaner and spray it while car is running but you v8 sound is more likey a plugged catalitic coverter or a bad muffler or exhausr pipe.

This is your catalitic converter. Do not drive but have the car towed to a repair shop. this is a dangerous condition.
