Isuzu began producing the Rodeo in 1991.The mid- sport utility vehicle (SUV) originally offered 102 horsepower. The1997 Rodeo features five different trims and offered one of two separate enginetypes. 3.2-liter Engine 1. The 1997 Rodeo S 4WD, LS 4WD, S V6 2WDand LS 2WD trims include a 3.2-liter, V6 engine that delivers 190 horsepower at5,600 revolutions per minute (rpm) and 195 pound-feet (lb.-ft.) of torque. Theengine features a compression ratio of nine and a bore and stroke of 3.7 inchesand 3.0 inches, respectively. 2.6 Liter Engine 2. One 1997 Rodeo trim, the S 2WD, featuresa 2.6-liter engine. This engine produces 120 horsepower at 4,600 rpm and 146lb.-ft. of torque at 2,600 rpm. The S 2WD is generally a cheaper alternative tothe other 1997 Rodeo trims. Isuzu Trooper Engine and Transmission # All trims of the 2002 Isuzu Trooper comestandard with a 3.5-liter, 215-horsepower V-6 engine that was paired witheither a four-speed automatic overdrive transmission or a five-speed manualoverdrive transmission. The engine was fueled by a 22.5-gallon gas tank andearned an EPA-estimated mileage of 15 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highwaywith the four-speed automatic overdrive transmission and 16 mpg in the city and19 mpg on the highway with the five-speed manual overdrive transmission.

Front Passenger side on cap is 1 - if you look on the inside of your cap there SHOULD be a pin marked with a 1, and the plugs go CLOCKWISE not counter. Just had the same problem myself with my 91 Rodeo. Cylinders are as follows Passenger side (front to back) 1 - 3 - 5, Driver side (front to back) 2 - 4 - 6. I called the Isuzu dealer and they told me it was counter clockwise, but when I hooked it up that way it backfired through the Carb.

with my experiance on these engines it's usually the upper outlet hoses running from the heads into a t then into the upper radiator hose they are pain to replace but 3 out of 3 of my v6 isuzu's have had the same problem you'll have to pull off the theromstat and the coil pack the hoses are very small and run from the end of the heads one on each into a t then into the radiator hose just under the housing
