Disconnect cables from battery, drain radiator, Remove the Timing belt cover, timing belt, timing belt tensioner and if needed the timing belt rear cover, remove the bolts that hold the pump in place using a criss-cross pattern. Install the new pump making sure the o-ring seal is properly installed and replace all the other parts. If you need step by step instructions on how to do all these task I recommend the Haynes Repair Manual on your vehicle Manual 30036.

How do i change a water pump on 2001 dodge intrepid?

This vehicle has a double overhead cam engine. The water pump is driven off the timing chain. Unless you have had experience doing internal engine repairs, this is not a DIYer job. There is great risk of doing more damage than good if any step(s) of the repair procedure are not done correctly.

2001 dodge neon leaking water from water pump i was driving n it felt like my car went into neutral n engine lite came on n it died it will turn over but won't start what do i check

well to me it seems like you have either a intake manifold leaking or head gasket leaking also which is causing coolant to go into motor.check the oil and see if it looks milky or overfull.

OTHERWISE, IT'S RECOMMENDED TO BUY A HAYNES REPAIR MANUAL AND FOLLOW THE STEPS EXACTLY-ALSO THERE MAY BE EXACT INSTRUCTIONS ONLINE IF YOU GOOGLE >> CHANGE or REPLACE WATER PUMP DODGE NEON(and engine size)
