I put in fuel pump, replaced the relays, and also put in fuel filter. Tried running a diagnostic on it but it seems the plug isn't getting power either. There is no fuel getting to the P71 motor.

The problem with the ALDL connector could be the cig lighter fuse.

Check your fuses....and if they are ok then have someone check to see if there is power coming to the fuel pump with a multi-meter.

No power to fuel pump or feul shutoff

Fuel shutoff? Are you talking abouty the inertia switch? Are you aware that you will only have power to the inertia switch and to the fuel pump for about 2 seconds when the ignition switch is turned from OFF to RUN? If you are checking for voltage here after that time, you are not SUPPOSED to find any.

If you are not getting any voltage there during the 2-second "fuel prime" cycle, then you need to check your fuel pump relay circuits. (Primary AND secondary)

1988 subaru gl 1.8..no power to fuel pump, fuses and links are good. pump works fine with power probe, just not getting power to it..diagram shows black and yellow wire to pump. it is in fact a blue...

The blue wire changes to Blue/White. It gets power from the Fuel Pump Relay. Fuse number 11 is the power source. The relay is up under the dash panel, blue connector

No power to the fuel pump

Sounds like you either have a bad relay or wiring issue here. First I would check to make sure your fuel pump fuse isnt blown 2.) Get a multimeter and check to see if you get power from the relay. 3 check to make sure you are getting a good ground the fuel pump. 4 check to make sure you are getting power to the relay. 5) Check to make sure you have a good relay. Hope this gives you some direction. Thanks for Using FixYa!

Sincerely,

JC
