Check for vacuum leaks. If its bad enough it can stall out the engine. Also what test were performed to test the fuel pump? I'm asking this because a fuel pump can appear to be working but if you have the incorrect fuel pressure this can cause your symptoms as well. Also check the fuel pressure regulator.

The fuel pump has 55psi on the gauge and pressure regulator is also good.

My toyota hilux pickup wont stert changed diesal pump and still wont start

Being a diesel, and changing the pump, you de pressurized the system. . Sometimes near the fuel filter they install a pump, or on the side of the motor near the fuel line. . It's like an old coleman stove. There should be a rod to pump the pressure back into the system. You may want to look at that route. If the truck ran after the fuel pump was installed and you let it sit a day and won't start, I would re check the tightness of the bolts and filters. Sounds like you have air in the system. Remember diesels run on pressure. Good luck let me know if this helps you

Mechanic told us problem was fuel pump in 2002 chevy silverado, we replaced the pump but seem to have air in lines...have tried and tried but can't get it to start??

try some starting fluid, see if it will fire, if it will then yes theres a problem in the fuel lines inspect the lines all the way back to the tank also check and see if its not a cloged fuel filter, if you spray starting fluid and it wont fire up then check your ignition system spark plugs wires ect.

2002 SILVEROADO 5.3. I was drivig down the road, started acting like it was running out of gas than stalled. No whrilling fuel pump sound, I checked all relays and they were ok, New fuel pump did not fix,...

The fuel filter wont keep the pump from working but it can restrict the flow of fuel. Just to see where your pump is at smack the tank hard one time. If the pump is malfunctioning it will most likely turn back on.

Was driving my 2001 silverado and decided to gas on it it sudenly lost power and started to chug I got codes p0756,p0332,p0174,p0171,p0131,p0151 I let it set for a few min with engine off and it drove ok...

hi

this is because there might been some discontinuity in flow of fuel so it might of lost power.this is because of unclean filter. so replace the filter and you wont face this problem again.

hi if you feel the information which i gave is useful please vote me

Having problems with 2002 chevy silverado 1500 won't stay running. cut out going down hiway then died will run a while then die is this the fuel pump

Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter first. If it was the fuel pump, and being electric. It would have not restarted again if the pump has gone bad. The fuel filter should be replaced every 1,500 miles or once a year to ensure that your fuel system is running 100% and will not burn out your fuel pump early due to extra heat generated from working harder then is should. Good luck and keep me posted.

90 chevy 350 with TBI starts but wont stay running changed fuel filter and fuel regulator dont know what next

I have a 90 chevy k1500 350 tbi with same problem! I have traced problem to... after turning on key fuel pump kicks on when u crank it over injectors shoot gas and truck starts! After few seconds injectors stop spraying and truck dies! This can happen many times over and over! Eventually sometimes truck stays running and all is great! I changed ignition module, oil pressure sending unit (which i was told controls gas after vehicle is running) fuel filter, computer, fuel pump relay, I am at a loss now! Hope this helps and hope someone can help me!

1999 chevy silverado won't start.

You need to test the fuel pressure with a special gauge, the pressure should be greater then 35PSI. The Vortec set up has more to it but what you seem to be discribing is a faulty fuel pump. Im assuming that the fuel filter was changed too. But you need to have a special tool that will allow you to isolate the fuel flow from the tank to the engine. popular reasons for fuel system failiers are filter, pump, fuel pressure reg. valve(located underneath the plenum) and not common but maybe fuel pump relay.

Can person "mech. inclined" but no exp. w/cars replace fuel pump?

Yea i don't see why not. There's a couple of things you need to know before you get started. You should grab yourself a manual of some sort at a local parts store. also the fuel lines that connect to fuel pump are very contrary and hard to get off be careful as to not damage the line. And I also would recommend if funds will allow to go with a GM replacement pump rather than a chep generic one. The job is not as hard as it sounds.
