Question about 2006 Audi Q7
I have an Audi Q7 3.0 TDI 08/2006 model. Unfortunately I ran out of diesel in a difficult area, and the car stopped smoothly on the road.
I went on foot and I brought first 2 liters of diesel, tried the engine but didn't start. Then I went and I brought another 8 litres thinking that eventualy the first quantity was not enough. Again nothing. The engine was trying to bring the diesel on but didn't start. Unfortunately I stayed out of battery and then I brought another car to load the batteries while trying to start the car. Again nothing.
I had to leave the car there as I am missing the manual of the engine(I have only the MMI manual with me). Can someone tell me where I have to go in the engine or what I have to do to make it start please?
The sure problem was that it was the missing diesel that stopped my car. Temperatures all ok and electronics all good. Just I need to load the batter but what else?
I really thank anybody giving me some help so that I can continue my business trip and I don't visit Audi for a week or so...
This link might provide you with some of the images for the engine component locations. You would be interested with the fuel lines going into the Common Rail Injection System as they would be providing the inflow of diesel fuel to the high pressure pump for the injectors. Additionally, you might find this page an interesting read with illustrations.
My apologies that I can not email you directly due to certain restrictions.
Good luck again.
