Sounds like you have a missing cylinder could be caused by a spark plug or wire or even a coil pack if your car has a coil pack if not then it could be your distributor cap, it could have a crack getting moisture in it causing the rough idle. hope this helped

My 2002 sturn SL2 is hard to start runs rough and wont go faster than 25 -30 miles per hour 2500 -3500 rpms manual shift 1.9 engine DOC

It is most probably the valve and or spark timing that need to be readjusted. Need to take it to a dealer who has the right test and tuning equipment.

97 k2500 350 bucks and runs rough at 2000-2500 rpms runs smooth accelerating

There are a few conditions that will not set a code. For example, stumbles are often caused by ignition coil problems. If the problem persists at a certain RPM, could be an O2 sensor problem in closed loop operation not lasting long enough to set a code, or a fuel regulator or injector problem. I would get a good code reader and check readings from all sensors in the circuit (including misfires) to see if you can pin down the problem.

Check engine light on. Will not rev up over 2500 rpm. Fluctuates between 2000 and 2500 rpm and runs rough. Upon first start, you can rev fine and it runs smooth as long as you hold the rpms over 3000. ...

Hi, there are a lot of things that could cause this behavior, so it would help us to diagnose your problem if you could get a scan of the OBD2 connector and send us the trouble code. If you live in the US you can usually get a free scan at your local parts chain.

Random missfires in 1 and 2 cylinder and the engine gets really rough between 2000 and 2500

Sounds like you have an EGR passage blockage problem. It would cause random misfires from being too lean, in a few cylinders, that are getting too much EGR gasses and the EGR valve just happens to open at appx. 2000-2500 rpms. Have it inspected.
