Hi, you may have a torn brake booster diaphram. Try disconnecting the brake booster and plugging the hose with a rag. Don't drive it without the booster, but set the parking brake and see how it runs in the driveway. If this clears up the problem, replace the booster.

Here are a few things to check out. The intake ducting between the MAF and the throttle body must be air tight. Any air getting in that doesn't go thru the throttle body will cause idling problems and surging. Make sure the air filter is fresh. Replace the PCV valve, and finally, check the egr valve for leakage. Good luck. Hope this helps.

'96 Mystique 2.0 trouble with idle. replaced idle mixing valve. I don't get any codes, I have to shift to neutral at a stop sign or light to keep from stalling. It gets real rough almost a lope.

troubles at lights may very well mean a vacuum leak from a faulty brake booster
test by stopping and then applying the park brake and taking your foot of the brake pedal
you can do this test in the garage
start the engine , apply the park brake , place in drive
if it idles alright , put you foot on the brake
if it plays up , replace the brake booster

1992 fuel injection 2.6 idle high and loping?

The brake and ABS lights could be on because of a brake or ABS problem. The ABS system uses the hydraulic brake system in addition to the ABS components.
The high idle could be a vac leak or a problem with the idle air control valve. You could check the computer for trouble codes even if the warning light does not stay on.

give the motor a tune-up. new plugs and wires. also the idle control valve needs testing unless that is the part you changed already. The car won't strop easily with the engine shut down because the brakes are no longer powered.

Engine lopes, idles way up then back down. Very difficult to depress brake pedal

maybe a problem with your brake booster or brake vacuam line, this would also cause eratic idleing. Can you hear an air leak?

Engine speed hunts on idle. Auto trans slow shift.

The fast idle valve is inside the throttle body. Sometimes it backs out and needs turned back in (it's threaded). This will cause the loping idle.

Get transmission filter changed with new fluid. Honda does not recommend transmission flushing.

My engine started idling very high. It is actually loping.

It sounds like there could be a problem with the idle air control valve, but if the check engine light is on, take the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for any fault codes that are stored. Most parts stores will scan the computer for free. Getting the fault codes will help identify the source of the problem. Hope this helped and best wishes.
