Hi, check your brake booster for a torn diaphram. Can you hear air sucking under the dash when you step on the brake? Please let me know if you would like instructions for changing the booster or if you have any other questions.

I have a 2004 daihatsu delta, it has the turbo diesel toyota engine.

diesel engine do not have chokes
next I suspect that you have an exhaust brake in operation (solenoid controlled flapper valve in the exhaust) that is activated by the brake pedal and
check for a switch or wire problem that is randomly activating the brake
the light will be like a butterfly in a tube with bars on either side of it

Carbeurator problems

Cold starting problems from a carbureted engine? Bet if you get your choke adjusted right, it will solve it. If you can screech the tires, this Tercel may be worth saving!
Just get a mechanic friend or pay someone to fix the choke. Doesn't take a long time if you know how. If you've never adjusted or worked on one, it's not so fun. Hard to explain too. The choke plate or flap should be almost closed completely when starting. Soon as engine is cranked or running, the plate should open a small amount more, but still nearly closed. Then as engine warms, the plate should gradually open until it is completely open after about 5-10 minutes. The choke cuts off the air supply to the engine. A cold engine needs a richer gas mixture to run good, and most importantly to start easy.

Where the fuel pump is... and where the choke brake cable is and how to change it out

On a 2.6 engine you have a carb, so the fuel pump is mounted on the side of the engine. You can follow the fuel line from the carb over to it.
I don't know what a choke brake cable is. The carb has an electric choke on the side.

Every time i hit te brakes on my mercury mountaineer it cuts off but there is no check engine light on what could that be

Brake Power Booster. Check the Hose and the PVC Valve.

What is happening is the Brake Power Booster is causing Back Pressure into your engine and causing it to not run properly

Car cuts off when i brake

engine stalls.? , what cuts off. ?
my guess, is .
the car had collision damage or trailer wiring hacks. that the brake light
wire is hitting ground and shorts the line.
the fuse should blow, my 2nd guess. is someone put in the wrong fuse
allowing this short to kill power to the ECU/PCM, stalling the engines.
btw, you do know that brake lamp can IN FACT , short out inside.
right? so replace them. both, first.
then inspect the wiring behind them as you do , and LOOK
for collision damage, or hacking damage (trailer, added cruise, what ever)

Engine cuts out when foot brake applied

sounds to me like a severe vacuum issue...pump the brake pedal quickly while in park if engine start to stall or does stall then take carb cleaner and spray vacuum lines and around intake near gasket engine will rev or die out when you hit a leak...very careful inspection of lines if no money for carb cleaner..or it could be brake booster is bad...loud air sound when pushin or holding pedal would indicate and issue there

1991 dodge ram van 250 cuts off when i stop. why?

You may have a short in an Interlock switch at the top of your brake pedal lever. It is under the dash. Or you could have a bad brake booster for the power brakes. When the brake pedal is used it lets out too much Vacuum and kills the engine.

The switch may be seen by looking under the drivers side of the dash. It is a common problem with many Ford products, but many manufacturers use this simple system. This switch was installed to make sure your foot is on the brake before you shift into gear.

Problem with cruise on 2003 E350 7.3L engine

Hello! The Parking Brake Switch is defective...It is not adjustable ...it is held in pace by a locator pin and a bolt and is located on the brake controller.
wire colors are Light Green/Red and Black...The contacts are spring loaded and are closing due to vibration...If the bruise control is set and you nit a bump the contacts will close...If cruise is set it will clear it just as if you hit the brake...See picture below...Guru...saailer

Cuts out at 4000 rpm in neutral and bogs while driving

repair or, replace the MAP flap switch on your engine's intake tube this switch measures the air volume admitted into the engine so that the engine computer can adjust timing and, fuel injector speed.
