My daughter just bought a 2001 Hyundai XG300L that has a flutter when going from 2nd to 3rd gear when warm. One of your experts said it could be a second shift gear solenoid going out but if has been changed (filter too) to do so again could make problem worse, this sounds like a guess...any other advice?

Thanks for info on speed sensor recall, are there two, is there an input and output and do you know how we can find information on recall? Thanks again.

There was an recall on the speed sensors in your model. Have it been replaced? I think this can be an main cause for the problem you are facing?

Its been long i have worked on this exact model but in my knowledge there must be two sensors. You can contact the direct Hyundai dealer and get the details on recall.

Not good if it has a lot of miles on it the second gear shift solenoid maybe going out or if your lucky the fliud and filter will help your problem.Beware though if the fluid and filter has never been changed and its high mileage i do not recomend changing it. It could make it worse. You should let a transmission shop put it on there scanner

you never said you have already changed the solenoid and filter. It sounds like you need a transmission shop. Not an answer to a question. all answeres are guesses my friend when you cant touch the car your self its all a guess. good luck

2001 hyundai elantra goes in2 reverse but won't go backwards all other gears r perfect

Most automatic transmissions have a separate belt for reverse and all forward gears, The reverse belt is commonly lighter duty that the forward belt (some Chryslers were affected so much it was advised to not shift into reverse until the engine had warmed up and the automatic choke idled down) Thus your car would be in "reverse" but with no motion getting to the gears.

1993 hyundai sonata has check engine light on and is stuck in limp mode and wont shift out of second gear

the .pcm puts it in limp mode and it will stay in mode until light is turned off. You need to get the trouble code, repair it, erase the codes (with a scanner that retrieves the codes), and then you will be out of limp home mode.

My Hyundai Tibruon 2001 does not shifts any gear :( I just put new automatic transmission, because it had gear shifting problem. after putting new fluid, i guess I put to much. can it cause this issue?...

removing excess oil will be a good start to see if you have a problem. Excess oil causes over heating of the oil and over pressure in the tranny or frothing of the oil which lowers operating pressures in the tranny

If I understand you correctly, you have ALL forward gears working, but reverse doesn't?... then the problem is in the transmission itself or the linkage on the trans linkage into reverse.
