Welcome to Fixya

This happens usually to cars especially during freezing temperatures. First thing to check is the battery. Make sure you have enough power on the battery. A good 650 amps battery will do or you may use battery blanket to keep the battery warm. Second is making sure that you are not using thick oil. Make sure your oil's viscosity is 5W-30. This is the condensation forms in gas tanks that aren't full. Ice then forms in the fuel lines. Keep the gas tank as full as possible and make sure your fuel and air filters are clean. Use gas line antifreeze. This is a chemical (essentially Methyl Hydrate) that is added to your gas tank to inhibit your gas line freezing. This product will also help conserve gas. You may need to check also the distributor cap. Cracked distributor cap, an old condenser, frayed spark plug wires or dirty spark plugs can all cause starting problems, especially if it's wet and cold.

Hi, if it's that cold your fuel line could be frozen. If this is the case, I would suggest parking your car in the garage until the lines thaw and putting water remover (not fuel conditioner) in the tank. Also, check the anti-freeze level. This won't prevent an engine from turning over, it keeps your block from cracking as antifreeze freezes at lower temperatures than water.
Put a bottle of HEET in the gas tank and fill up the Antifreeze level, this will make it start at any time.

Car wouldnt start after being hooked up to a battery charger for 24 hours

It could be water frozen in your fuel system (fuel line, fuel filter, fuel pump or pickup or fuel rail). If you can get the car into a garage try letting it warm up, otherwise wait for a warmer day, to try starting it. If it is water in the fuel, you can add "dry gas" to your fuel which is an alcohol product designed to be an antifreeze and to absorb the water. However, if the water is already frozen in your system, this won't help without warming the car up first in some way. If you haven't changed your fuel filter in the last year, I would do that as well. Water can easily build up in a filter and freeze there in extremely cold weather. If this problem is water related, also fill the tank completely with a fresh quality gasoline, and add dry gas for the next several fill ups to help get any water in your fuel system out to keep it from happening again.

Hard cold start for 99 intrepd w2.7l/ ok hot/set check eng lite

Check your Fuel Filter, especially if your in a cold climate that has already reached freezing temps. If you have any moisture in your fuel system and the freezing temps have arrived the filter and injectors can freeze up slightly causing this type of problem. If this was happening in warmer temperatures check the fuel system for pin hole leaks that could be allowing the air into the system.

I have a 1999 Grand Caravan with start up problems

if you dont already I would highly recommend pluging it in a night if it has a block heater it helps to keep the block warmer and this will keep most moister from regular use from freezing in the electrical connections under the hood also try using a fuel anti freeze if there is the slightest bit of moister in the lines it will cause a rough start and it takes 35seconds of above idle running for the vehicles fuel injection programing to reset it self and run smoothly, also have the battery checked it could just have a weak moment until the alternator kicks in to recharge it from the start-up so I would recommend having the battery check cold so it hasn't had the boost from the alternator yet.hope this helps.

'98 Yukon - Cold Start Issues (not battery)

I am thinking that there may be a fuel bleed down problem if this is an injected engine.

Try this, turn on the key, but do not try to start the engine for 30 seconds. Then see if the engine will start on the first try.

As for wearing the battery down, cold is hard on a battery, so having an engine that starts easy is easier on the battery.

1998 S-10 cold start

The cold weather wreaks havoc on everything. I am thinking that the cold weather and your octane rating are not getting along, hence no error codes. Have you tried fuel drier and or octane booster?Since the truck starts when the temperature gets warmer, I would look at octane as the culprit. Try some octane booster and see if that helps. Let me know. Hope this helps.

Try changing the fuel filter, water trapped in it can freeze. Its a 92 and probably time for a fuel pump. They don't like water either.(Meythonol Fuel) Always change fuel filter when adding antifreeze to fuel

Van won't start when weather is cold

Try using higher octane fuel or octane boost in the winter this is a common problem on the dodge V-8s,after about 60,000 miles. However yours sounds like fuel line freeze up V-8s experience moisture in the fuel lines. Higher octane should help you may also wish to change your fuel filter, and run a fuel line cleaner through your van Seafoam is a good one.
