you didn't mention which engine. But if you become a member of autozone.com there are instructions to remove, test and install the fuel injectors. Just look at the repair guide for your vehicle.

I suggest checking out the autozone.com website and register the vehicle. It doesn't cost anything and will give you access to an online repair manual. The steps for replacing the alternator should be available there. Hope this helped and best wishes.

1991 Ford Econoline Problem Starting

It may not have anything to do with the tank switch. It sounds like the check valve in the pump has failed. The valve prevents fuel pressure from draining back into the tank.

I cant locate the fuel shut off switch on 91 ford econoline 250 super 5.8L

The inertia switch is on either side of the dash near the doors. Look around the emergency brake pedal or around the heater box.
I would check the fuel pump relay and the ECM relay.

1995 econoline 150 won't start unless I hold the gas pedal down and then when it is trying to start I have to let off the pedal or it won't start.

Could be injectors are clooged, or fuel pump is going out. I would start with replaceing the fuel pump, its the cheapest. Then if the problem persisst, have the injectors check and cleaned.

Fuel pump location 1988 ford econoline

Theres 2 pumps one in the tank, lift pump, and one in the chassis rail under the driver side. The one in the tank is cheap, the one in the rail is not. The one in the tank only produces low pressure to prime the main pump and if it is broken, may not cause that much of an issue except when starting. the one in the rail is a no-start if it fails. The idea is that the rail pump can supply high pressure for the injectors, so a fuel pressure test at the injector rail will determine which pump is playing up. Hope that helps Tim

Fuel pumps not working on a 1991 ford e250 motor home with a 5.8 motor ..was working fine untill i hit curb, have replaced fuel pumps and still no fuel, both tanks are full of fuel

The inertia switch has tripped I am not positive where the reset switch is, look behind the carpet just above where the passenger's feet rest. Call the dealer's service dept. to ask where it may be located.

Why did both fuel pumps go out at the same time

If i am thing correctly your 1991 Ford Econoline has 1 pump in each tank and ALSO has a booster pump on the frame rail.
If the booster pump fails it can take out the main pumps really fast
