The handle broke off of my glove box and now i can't get it open. Suggetions?

Brute force and get a new one from a breaker.

Find another Kia Sportage and look at that working glove box to see what you should do to fix yours. It helps if you or a friend is "mechanically inclined".

It would be easier if u could shove a screw driver in and try to push the latch open, but if u need to breaking the handle works.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If the glove box was closed wrong than the latch that keeps the glove box shut will close on itself. If you take a pen or a screwdriver and put little pressure on it and try the handle again it should open. if thats not the case than replace the handle, the locking mechanism with in the handle or the spring broke or came apart.

I have an 03 Aztek and my latch just broke the trick to getting it open is a screwdriver or a little hook of some sort... Pull the handle back and look up under u will see a metal bar on the right side. get a grip of that and pull/pry a little bit and it will open. Once open there are 2 philips head screws holding it in and that's it

try a small screw driver push it up and try and pry it open that way good luck

Try car dismantlers or scrapyard. Get the whole glove box door and it wil cost you much less then new one.

does it have a key lock on it an if so open it like that or buttter knife or credit card an try slidein it in the latch

This happened in my '01 galant as well. If you take a peek under where the handle used to be, there's a little square nook with a spring and a little plastic tab. take a key and stick it right above the tab and press down, and the glove compartment should just pop right open. If it doesn't work, then it's probably just locked. Just unlock the door and try it again.
