You should take your car to the technician to have it looked at.
The thermostat is propably malfunctioning and is not displaying the temperature correctly.
You propably don't have the knowledge to do this on your own, and should seek professional guidance, or hire a professional.

Heat gauge reads hot but engine is not hot.

There may be two heat or temp sensors, one for the gauge, and one for the computer. You could also have damaged insulation on the wire leading from the sensor to the gauge. You should be able to ground the wire on the engine, and the gauge should shoot to HOT very quickly, if the wire and gauge are good AND you are on the correct sensor.

Very little heat on cold mornings, more heat later in day

When the engine is warm, and running, feel both heater hoses. They should be equally hot if the water valve is open. If they are unequal, then it is a water control problem. If both hoses are hot, the ductwork is not routing the heat under the dash properly.

If you have a temperature gauge in the dash, you would be getting heat if the engine shows normal. A thermostat may be needed if you have no water gauge and you do not know if the engine is hot enough.

1999 denali dummy gauge turned on, vehicleoverheating gauge started to show hot, attempted to turn heater on to releave heating but heater blew cold air only.

Your coolant is to low to allow heating...not water to heat up or cool the engine. Check the coolant resevior/radiator after the engine is cooled and then refill with anti-freeze. this should solve the problem...if not, you have a sticking thermostat or a clogged radiator. Good luck

Car doesnt heat up change therstat still doest heat up

Is your gauge just showing a low temperature? i can guarantee your engine is getting hot. If your gauge is showing low temp you may just have a bad temp sensor.

Temperture gauge show's hot after a one minutes running

Most likely the heat sensor.
Ensure you replace the gauge sensor with the correct type to suit your gauge.
(dont confused it with the overtemp alarm switch sensor).
Check you've got the right sensor by shorting it out to frame/ground and observing the gauge movement.
