You need to check if there is power getting to the two terminals by the side of the rear window,if not then there is a breakeage from the fuse to the rear window terminal.

Rear defroster doesnt work already reset breaker and check fuses but one fuse in manual not on panel

i think this is a grid type(wires) rear defroster as opposed to a fan style.then when you push the button to turn on the rear defroster you should hear a click this tells you the system is working from the fuse to the rear window.what you have to do is check the rear window grid(wires) with a test light and you will probably find some of the grids not working which indicates a break in the grid line and needs repair.you start with a test light at one end and you should see it light up brightly at one end of the grid and as you move along the grid wire to the other side of the window you should see the light gradually get dimmer, when you hit a spot were the light stops working you just have to norrow down the area of the break and mark it with a marker below the grid, when you have done the complete window you will know the areas that need repair.you can buy a defroster grid repair kit and repair it.follow the directions.before checking the grid wires check the area where the car wires connect to the window at both sides of the window.sometimes there is a problem in this area.

Defroster for rear windshield of 1998 toyota camry doesn't work

Check the owner's manual for a fuse diagram, the fuse may have blown. Normally this is a high amp fuse and is found in the fuse box under the hood. Unfortunately if the fuses are fine you may have bumped a wire while cleaning the rear window and it will need soldered back on. Please rate this answer, thanks.

1998 Toyota Camry passenger window and rear windows willnot roll down. Drivers side is ok. Don't have an owners manual so I don't know where the fuse box is to check if it's a blown fuse. Could this be...

look on the drivers master control switch for windows, there should be a lock mode switch, this will lock windows when pushed down and when pushed again, allows windows to work, this is probably the problem,or master switch is bad, also can windows be used with the other switches in car?if not you probably have it locked on master switch

95 Toyota Camry rear window defroster won't work

It could be the fuse, the fuse is in fuse block inside the car near the Instrument panel, you have to remove the ash tray assembly to get to it. It is a 40 A type B fuse. Have a look towards the back of your owner's manul and it will show you where it is.
