When you pulled out the old ignition, your not supposed to move anything, other than clock the new one to have the keys match the old one. any ways sounds like you need to pull the tumbler out, and hold the outer case, while turning the key, then re-insert it in. plain and simple you just dont have it clocked correctly

Why does a 1995 foed mustang gt just stall and wont restart.

Very late but for anyone else with this problem. I used to have this occur when I drove around for a bit. I'd drive and after 5-20 mins the car would just stall on me. It wouldn't start immediately and sometimes just waiting an hour or 2 and trying again made it start and drivable for a few minutes again. The problem was the ignition coil. I spent over $1400 changing parts to find out it was an $18 fix and took 10 mins to swap out. If the rpms do jump around a lot then yes the stator would be the problem. If it just stalls even while driving, it's the ignition coil. If neither, test the voltage regulator. Hope this help. Happy driving!!

Crank but won't start

You'll have to figure out if it is a fuel or ignition problem.
Is the check engine light on ? Have you checked for trouble codes ?
It could be a relay, the ignition module, coil, fuel pump, or a list of other things.

Installed a new ignition in my 1995 ford mustang gt as well as a new ignition switch my car still wont start. aslo installed a new starter, coil, plugs, wires, battery, fuel pump, and fuel filter still...

check the rear of your trunk driver side like if your going to change rear brake light do you have a gas override switch wich starts the gas pump its a restart button you have to remove the panel as if your going to take off tail light on driver side rear its an emergency shut off.

Some times my 1995 mustang gt 5.0 wont statr.ill let it sit for an hour then it always fires right up.

This could be the stator sensor inside your distributor. This is a common problem with 1994 - 1995 Mustang GT's. Did you ever notice your tachometer behave sporadically? Does the car ever stall while driving? These are two symptoms of that problem.
