Pull your alternator and have it tested at local auto parts store. If voltage from alt is low, it won't be enough to run ignition

2000 infiniti QX4 3.3L (engine has a distributer) stalls out especially when revved from idle. Also won't start or very difficult to start, haven't been able to get it to start for a couple days...

pull one ignition cable out of cap just enough to see the tip of connector and crank it, a spark should jump from cap to tip of wire. no spark means you need the whole distributor replaced. buy it from nissan or infiniti dealer, it comes with cap rotor installed and 12 mo 12k mile warranty, no matter who installs it. dont waste time with aftermarket rebuilt distributor, those are not reliable. https://parts.infinitiusa.com/

MY 220K MILE 1997 NISSA TRUCK ONCE IT WARMS UP (WILL NOT DO IT COLD LIKE AFTER 30 MIN ON) WILL IDLE VERY LOW, THEN STALL OUT, CHANGED OUT FUEL FILTER, DISTRIBUTER, CAP & ROTOR, PLUGS, WIRES,...

A throttle positioning sensor or idle sensor can cause these problems, low fuel pressure can cause these problems also low fuel pressure can be caused by a faulty fuel pressure regulator.

My 1997 jetta stalling, after coming to astop. changed airflow mass censor, wires last year, distributer cap and fuel pump.please what could be happening?

it's very hard to diagnose without being there but one thing that you may want to check is the rubber piece between the Mass airflow sensor and the intake. If it has a crack or tear in it the vacuum leak will cause false air to enter the intake without passing through the airflow sensor. This will make it stall at idle or when the RPMs are at their lowest. The other guess would be another defective MAF sensor. Possible if you got a used one.

Engine stalls out on occasion like the key was shut off have change air flow sencer mapp sencer new vaccum lines

Check your plugs, wires, distributor cap/rotor, fuel filter, and air filter.

If I had to take a guess, I would try replacing the Distributor Cap & Rotor, as well as the Fuel Filter. Also, try running some Gumout Fuel Injector Cleaner and a tank of good gas through it.

I hope this helps! Best of luck to you :-)

Best Regards,

James

I have a 2002 toyota camry and everytime i come to a stop my car dies.

Hi, this is poor fuel distribution that can be caused by a clogged fuel filter or a faulty fuel pump. i would change both devices to insure maximum performance if not done so already. i would also change the air filter as well. the increased air flow will improve combustion.

Another good point is to add a pint of sea foam to the fuel tank during fill up. this additive, will cleanse the entire fuel system. it removes debris form the fuel rials and lines.

before you drop tank again, check fuses & relay.then disconnect fuel line @ filter turn key to on position should hear fuel pump run and get gas stream out of line. if no flow from line new pump faulty be sure & remove negative battery cable first good luck.

1997 vw jetta stalling when raining

The problem in the Jetta could very well be with the ignition coil. I had the same problem for a long time and tried the usual replacing plugs, wires, etc, but nothing seemed to work.

It ended up being the ignition coil which over time, managed to sustain very small cracks. Even a small amount of moisture would cause all sorts of problems.

I replaced the ignition coil and had no problems after that.
