Question about 1997 Dodge Dakota

1 Answer

I recently removed tranny to replace freeze plugs. Forgot to disconnect battery. Now have blown fuse somewhere besides in both fuse boxes, [under hood and dash panel]. I have checked all visible fuses in both those boxes and all are working. Engine cranks, but no spark at coil. There must be an inline fuse somewhere. My manual does not address this. Where is the possible culprit?

Should be fusible link by battery or at firewall. It's a heavy wire not an actual fuse usually will burn through but I've seen a couple that looked fine but were bad.

Blown fuse on fuel pump 1996 Ford explorer Replaced fuse drove vehicle home. Now it will not start.

A blown fuse is an indication of circuit overload. Did you replace the fuse with one of the same value or higher? is this the standard current rating for that circuit (usually marked on the fuse cover.

If the engine cranks remove a spark plug tape it to the intake manifold or somewhere where there is clean bare metal (please not near the battery) check for spark if ok reinstall plug if not replace the ECM fuse and relay with alternatives in the fuse box if this gets the pump going replace the ECM fuse and or relay then check for fuel turn on the ignition you should hear the pump run and then shutoff if not replace the pump fuse and relay with alternatives in the fuse box if this gets the pump going replace the pump fuse and or relay

How do you check fuse in the back of the radio?

1.Turn off the vehicle. Locate the main fuse box.
2.Locate a fuse box that isn't under the dashboard by checking under the hood of the car.
3.Look at the diagram on the inside of the fuse box's cover.
4.Determine if the fuse is blown by looking through the clear plastic casing.
5.Take the blown fuse to an electronics store or a car-parts store.Push the new fuse into the empty slot in the fuse box, making sure that it is in the same direction as the other fuses. It should slide in with a tight fit.Replace the fuse-box cover.
6.Complete the above steps before removing the car radio.Disconnect the car battery under the hood by disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal (the black cable) of the battery. Remove the dash area around the car radio.Unscrew the four screws on each corner of the car stereo.Locate the fuse on the back of the car radio.

7.Take the blown fuse to a car-parts store or electronics store to find a replacement fuse. Place the new fuse into the car radio.lide the car radio back into the dash opening. Replace the corner screws followed by the dash trim panels. Put any screws and clips back into place.Reconnect the car battery. Turn the car on, and if the blown fuse was the problem, the radio should work.

Fuse box ]

If you suspect you have a blown fuse somewhere,
Instead of wasting time searching for the exact location, why not just remove each fuse 1 by 1, and replacing them as you go so you don't mix them up. If you have any blown fuses, you will find it in under 30 seconds. If you don't know the difference between a good vs blown fuse, ill post a picture to help you identify.

After replacing battery in 2002 Toyota Sequoia, radio losses memory everytime vehicle is started. What is wrong?

The radio uses a constant power to retain memory(stations, settings, ect.) and switched power to run on. It sounds like there is a problem with the constant power connection. You can first check the fuse box for any blown fuses and replace any that are found. Also look around the battery for any wires with an inline fuse that could be broken. Try looking under the dash near the radio for any inline fuse holders that could have a blown fuse. You might need to pull the radio and start tracing the constant 12v power wire. First verify that it does have power and if it does then the radio may have been damaged from a voltage spike when the new battery was installed. If the wire does not have power then you will need to start tracing the wire back to the source of the short. It sounds to me like a blown fuse somewhere....

A bimetal circuit breaker is located in the joint box, which is just above the interior fuse panel. This circuit breaker protects the rear window defrost circuit and is the plug-in type.

Fuses
The main fuse block is located inside the left side of the engine compartment near the battery. There is also an interior fuse panel located just above the left side kick panel.

2003 fairlady 350z fuse

Fuse Box should be located under the dash just beside the driver's door. It sounds like you may have a bigger issue than just a blown fuse. The interior lights are on one fuse, the instrument gauge is on another fuse, the rear window is on another fuse. For all three to blow, it would seem that there's an electrical short somewhere.

Parking light fuse

It should be fuse #36 (10 amp) in the box under dash. Its marked illum. lights. If it was blown and it blows again after you replace it you have a short somewhere in the circuit. P.S. your owners manual should give you fuse locations.
